We stopped here for lunch while on a trip. They have a nice lunch special that includes soup and tea. I had the pad tai which was quite good. The booth we sat in had very worn seats and was pretty uncomfortable. The place is tiny and worn-down looking, but the food is good.

I've been a fan of Wanpen since she opened many years ago. Now that I live in another county I don't get her food as much as I would like. The atmosphere in the restaurant could be better, but the food is amazing! I get takeout frequently on my way home from the grocery store. I especially recommend the sesame... More

We stopped for dinner right off the highway and we were worried we would be relegated to Subway. We saw Wanpen and decided to stop. Despite getting the wrong entree, it was very good. I decided to stay with the wrong entree after tasting it, the Super Noodles were very tasty. The atmosphere was okay, clean and comfortable. A great... More

Oh yes...My wife said..."Look, a Chinese restaurent." Did she pick a winner. First, we noticed it was a Thai/Chinese place. I love Thai food...and I was hungry and really in the mood for some delicious Pad Thai. Well, here we were, on IS 75 heading for Asheville NC, in Berea, Kentucky...(Where's dat?)...and Wan Pen proved to be a real diamond... More

Mrs. Wan Pen is from Thailand and knows how to prepare some amazing dishes! I am fond of the red curry dishes but I've never had a dish that wasn't delicious. The restaurant itself could be updated. But Mrs. Wan Pen is a hard working lady that really cares about her customers and the food that she serves. Give it... More

Awesome food. Owner lady is the sweetest person. The only problem is you never know when they are open. Seem to have strange hours. Half the time we try to go there the parking lot is empty and they are closed.

We love this restaurant! Wan Pen is the owner/ master chef of this small, excellent restaurant. Food is prepared quickly, and is always delicious. Our favorites are the lunch specials, especially the red and green curries. You can ask for your food to be prepared mild, or extra hot if you prefer. If you do not specify , it comes... More

Wanpen is the real deal, not just another "Thai in a box" restaurant. We've been eating here since our daughter was in kindergarten and she will graduate from college next year. The food is excellent and the service is unbeatable, although the decor is kind of "hometown diner meets Thailand". She has watched my daughter grow up and we feel... More

Most of my friends in Berea told me that this was a great place to eat. They were very friendly, and the place was full, which makes me think that they really do usually do a good job. I think we hit them on an "off" day, though. The food was good, but the service was a little lacking. My... More

Had lunch... I ordered green curry with tofu, which was very good... Wish brown rice were an option but wasn't. Hot & sour soup wasn't what we were use to ( it was made with a brown sauce kind of base... But not horrible). Hubby had Szechuan chicken & was ok but again a kind of brown sauce, not what... More
