Looks are deceiving

Pulling up and at first take, it is history. Oozing 1700s style and old world sophistication, the outer structure is impressive and harkens back to the days of buggies and top hats. You can hear the hooves and smell the cigars. Then you open the door and you are blasted with kitsch and Taylor... read more

Absolutely perfect, classic pot roast! Derby pie was a great desert. The feeling of history and old architecture is an added pleasure.

For a place that is steeped in history, this place has good food, but the service is lacking. We went on a Thursday night when it wasn't too busy and our server just couldn't seem to get ahead of the game. We weren't in a rush and enjoyed the dining room, so it wasn't too much trouble. I would suggest... More

We stopped in late afternoon on a Sunday for a cold beer between sightseeing and heading back to our hotel. It was quiet in the bar - for a while we were the only ones there. The bartender was very nice. Suggested things for us to do in the area for the next day. He did tell us that most... More

The food we had was excellent but unfortunately my wife's first few choices were unavailable because they had run out of the food. My wife heard one of the waiters explain to another table that it had been a very busy weekend and their deliveries were not expected until Tuesday. On the other hand, I had a very nice flight... This place is pretty great if you are into bourbon and some local craft beers. The food is pretty good. It is exactly what you need after a long day at the local distilleries. The bartenders and wait staff are great and made me feel pretty comfortable. Overall, I would recommend this place. There is a bit of history and... More

We visited this establishment twice during a weekend visiting the Bourbon Trail. The first evening we went to the Bourbon Bar next to the restaurant to eat, have a few drinks and listen to the live music. We arrived around 7:50 to a fairly full bar. After sitting for about 15 minutes we realized that the waitress standing behind the... More

Food was very good here and the atmosphere is outstanding. We loved the old logs and rustic decor. Prices were not too expensive and service was really good. Friendly people.
