I have visited Bardstown many times but never taken the time to eat at The Old Talbott Tavern. Katellynn was great and not only fun to talk to but very good on the service. I plan to return the next time work takes me to Bardstown.

Came in for lunch on our way to the KY Railroad Museum in New Haven. The building is historic & interesting. There was a tour bus there when we got there. They were in a separate room. I ordered the side salad & cheese fries on the appetizer side. Bothe were very good. The salad was fresh & had lots... More

We stated to go to The Rickhouse which locals told us was the best but It was closed on Monday night! Bummer. Actually most of downtown was totally closed on a Monday night. We checked out Old Talbott Tavern for a cocktail and dinner. The setting and ambience is worth a least a cocktail! It is so charming as you... More

Another great restaurant, and historic place. Again the food was great, as was the staff. Loved reading about the history, and the famous people who stayed, and/or ate there.

After driving 600 miles from Middle GA, it was a pleasant surprise when we visited the Tavern. The barmaid, Kaitlyn, was a delight and very adept in her knowledge of the various beverages and food. Would certainly return the next time we're in the area.

Great how they have kept the original feel of the building but the food was a little disappointing and the selection was pretty limited. For the price the servings were small (except the fries) and the quality was fine, but nothing I would go back for or tell my friends that had to try. I will say that we got... More

Was on the Bourbon trail and one of the local distilleries recommended Old Talbott for lunch as part of our journey. The building made me feel like I was in a small local pub in London or Dublin. Exposed wood beams, a dark feeling, LOVED IT. There was some confusion when we sat down and we waited for service. Had... More

The menu sounded excellent, we tried 2 dishes the Bourbon Walnut encrusted chicken and their bourbon BBQ Porkchop. The best thing about the meal was the salad, how bad can you mess up lettuce??? The green beans tasted like they were out of a can doctored up with some onion and ham and were lukewarm and the risotto was lukewarm.... More

Loved the atmosphere, music and bourbon selection! The original details were gorgeous and the person who collected our cover fee was so informative. He was nice enough to tell me about the history of the building and some of his own experiences while working there.

Friends of ours had told us about the Old Talbott Tavern. After spending the day at Maker's Mark Distillery we headed to Talbott's. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful in suggesting some of their house favorites and offering many samples of their local beers. My favorite apply was the fried sampler. Being a pickle lover, the deep fried pickles... More
