We were in town to visit My Old Kentucky Home State Park and chose the Old Talbott for lunch. We had the hot browns, which were only okay, and the country fried steak, which was really delicious. The service was average. I'd probably choose some place else next time we're in town, but this was worth the one-time experience.

We ate here last Thursday and were very disappointed. The service was terrible and we were there for almost two hours. They ran out of the soup that was ordered and never told us so we waited thirty minutes for it. The food wasn't great and definitely overpriced. I had the Greek chicken salad which was very good but the... More

We went to Bardstown to check out the history. We saw this old 1790s tavern and thought let's try it. The building has history and is interesting to see. It was a warm day and with the stone walls it was cool inside. Winter time you had better wear your coat. Service was slow and the food a little less... More

This was our second visit to THE TAVERN and it was just as bad the second time as the first,we won't be back. This is a very unusual building with quite a bit of history but that is about all it has going for it.The food was nothing special and it is overpriced,a screw up in the kitchen with our friends... My husband and I were visiting the area and thought the historic inn looked interesting. We decided on dinner. They offered two menus. One was for those who had Foster Theater tickets saying the menu was for those who wanted food quick. Not that we needed food quick but the food we happened to want was on both menus. My... More

The pros: This is a neat little place with some great ambiance. The history of the bar is particularly interesting. I also thought the service was very good. The bourbon list was decent though not exceptional. That said, the pricing was fair and allowed for greater opportunities to try new things. The cons: The food- bleh. At best, it was... More

Stopped into the restaurant on our way to a concert last night. Service was very slow and when my burger arrived it was very under cooked. When I sent it back I had no idea it would take 30 minutes to get another one. My wife and other couple finished their meals well before my burger returned. The waitress apologized... More

This restaurant came as a recommendation of our hotel. We were very surprised by the decorate we felt like we were in Ireland. The decorator was very woody and rustic. We really liked it. Then we were greeted by a very nice waiter. Our service was great. The food was very good too. We had a Hot Brown and my... More

A beautiful piece of history ,which is a must to see but the management of the restaurant is probably the worst I have ever experienced in my life of travels. If you know the phrase, running around like a chicken with it's head cut off, that would be the best description. The manager there needs a lesson in getting the... More
