Stopped into the restaurant on our way to a concert last night. Service was very slow and when my burger arrived it was very under cooked. When I sent it back I had no idea it would take 30 minutes to get another one. My wife and other couple finished their meals well before my burger returned. The waitress apologized... More

This restaurant came as a recommendation of our hotel. We were very surprised by the decorate we felt like we were in Ireland. The decorator was very woody and rustic. We really liked it. Then we were greeted by a very nice waiter. Our service was great. The food was very good too. We had a Hot Brown and my... More

A beautiful piece of history ,which is a must to see but the management of the restaurant is probably the worst I have ever experienced in my life of travels. If you know the phrase, running around like a chicken with it's head cut off, that would be the best description. The manager there needs a lesson in getting the... More

Over the course of many years traveling thru Bardstown, I have eaten here numerous times. I wish I had skipped it on our most recent visit. I am a big fan of good country ham and enjoy the unique, salty taste. I ordered the “Country Ham Steak” with red eyed gray, homemade mashed potatoes-gravy, and green beans with ham for... More

This is a very cool old tavern that has been in business since 1779. The architecture is wonderful, like stepping back in time and having a meal in the dinning room of a colonial family. My friend and I ate there before going to the outdoor musical nearby. We wanted all local food so we got fried green tomatoes--yummy. The... More

I was looking forward to the dining experience at Talbott Inn, but was disappointed. Very pricey (we spent over $50 for two - no alcohol). The facility is nice and historic - but I wouldn't eat there again if I visited the area. I feel that it is just an overpriced tourist attraction. I ordered the hot brown (which I... More

We had lunch and supper here. Both meals were very good and both waitresses very helpful. Their barbecue sauce and ranch dressing homemade there. Excellent!

They tried to warn me at the hotel, but I wanted to try it and found some good reviews so we tried it. I should have listened. The prices reflected the touristy approach of this beautiful area-I expected that. But, I did not expect the food to be so, so bad. The appetizer sampler plate was plentiful--lots of fried tomatoes,... More

Wonderful, old architecture with nice wall paintings and decor. Food reasonably priced; my wife and I ate for less than $35, including tip. My wife had large, delicious hamburger, bun toasted without asking. Gladly given second serving of French fries since first were not hot enough. Try the special Old Kentucky Hot Brown; something different! Like creamed ham on toast... More

A friend and I stopped in at the Bourbon Bar on a Wednesday night during happy hour in the middle of April. It was our first stop in historic Bardstown. We just had beverages at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable of area history (not just Tavern's history) and bourbon distilleries. There were only 5 people in... More
