We were told that a table for 7 would be about 20 minutes. It took over an hour, and then there were empty tables everywhere! We ordered two bottles of wine. Neither in stock. Picked a lesser grade of wine. Ick. The wine glasses were filthy. Not dirty, filthy. After waiting an hour to get in, the food took another... More

Excellent place to dine. Atmosphere galore. Nice menu choices and superior service. Paul took great care of us on two occasions and made our great meals even better. He recommended the burgoo on our first visit and am I glad I took his advice. Excellent burgoo!! I could have made a meal on that alone. My wife had the post... More

The best reason to go to this restaurant is that the building was built in 1779 and how often do you get a chance to dine in a building that old? For me, it's not very often so I seized the opportunity. Ya gotta admit, that building has seen a lot of history. The food was palatable but not outstanding.... More

Our dining experience may be our worst ever, 30 minutes to get cocktails with excuse that bartender was swamped (with 12 customers in bar area?). After 1 1/2 hours, still no meal. Talked with hostess twice and to owner at that point. No apology from either. Both were surly when we said we would pay for our drinks and that... More

Had an enjoyable dinner and the waitress was excellent. She gave us some good recommendations. The food was good and plentiful but very rich. Would definitely recommend trying.

I'm a transplanted East Coast type who is happily retired in Kentucky. I find the state quite delightful in many ways, but the food can be traditionally Southern without the spices I enjoyed back home. A trip to Bardstown just evolved and we spent a pleasant 24 hours there. While I have yet to have my first mint julep, we... More

My first and last experience here. I'm sorry to say how disappointed I was in the food. The service was good and prices were fair, they definitely need to work on their food.

The natural rustic ambiance was what I liked best, old wood planked floors, period firesplaces and rustic walls that seemed to hold reams of history. My salad was fresh and very tasty.

we spent the weekend in Bardstown and had a really great time. We had dinner and drinks at the Old Talbot Inn. This is a fascinating historic building. The restaurant and bar were very busy this weekend. The bartender was there all weekend and she took great care of us like we were family, very friendly and kind. The food... More
