There was nothing I disliked. I had the special, chicken pot pie. It came with green beans. They were seasoned and they were italian beans. They were fabulous. The chicken pot pie was just the thing for a damp cold day. I shared the bread pudding with bourbon sauce. You could really taste the bourbon. I enjoyed the setting; an... More

Lovely setting and very good food! Especially enjoyed the Burgoo (a veggie soup) - awesome! We enjoyed great comfort food - fried chicken, bourbon ribs - great service, too. Afterwards, went into the bar for live music - really fun,

The dining room at the Old Talbott Inn featured a number of gourmet prepared meals. The Bourgoo (a featured soup) was unbelievable. I had a salad that featured locally grown greens and vegetables. My wife had the prime rib which was cooked to perfection.

The best Burgoo and a great Kentucky Hot Brown! Rich with Kentucky and American history, see the Audubon portrait during your visit. All staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable about the tavern and local history.

Just stopped in for a beer. Awesome bar with a whole bunch of history. Off the main drag, and has a huge bourbon selection.

Dinner here after two Bourbon Trail stops and a winery recommendation. All three were right on. Affordable. Knowledgeable attentive wait staff. Fabulous old tavern setting. Definite repeat visit in our future.

We arrived after leaving the Rickhouse, we were greeted and seated immedatly. Our server brought the menu and explained the specials and soup of the day. Asked for our drink order as I was reviewing the extensive Bourbon page. We requested a little time, he left and return a few minutes with water. We placed out drink order and appitizer.... More

After a long day of touring Distillery's...we stopped in to this Historic Tavern in Downtown Bardstown for a rest, and a bite to eat!! If you do any homework...you'll know that this place has been there since the late 1700's and is listed as the "Oldest Stagecoach stop in America". It's eerie to think Abe Lincoln...Jessie James...and many other American... More

All of the history that is in this building made it very unique. We sat at the bar with some locals, and some tourists….a nice mix. The bartender was great at suggesting new drinks, and the chicken wings were some of the best we ever had! They have a ton of bourbons to try, and they were so knowledgable about... More

We were in Bardstown on a Sunday evening and our dining options were limited. We went to the Old Talbot Tavern when we realized our first choice was closed. Our waitress was very sweet, and the atmosphere was quaint and interesting. However, the food was quite lackluster and nothing special. The fried chicken and biscuits were delicious, but the risotto,... More
