Good Southern Home Style Food

This is a family run restaurant with good southern food. It is located near the Willet distillery. We had soups and sandwiches which was just perfect for lunch. The best part was the pies for dessert.

If you enjoy eating at Kurtz and think it's five star dining I'm sure you won't agree with my review. We stopped for a late lunch around two on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant wasn't busy and we were seated right away. Service was quick and efficient throughout the meal and the servers courteous. The real problem came with the... More

Visiting Bourbon country with 8 friends and stopped here for a late-ish lunch. Delightful unpretentious attitude and great food. Great waitress. This is home cooking with love. I had a county ham sandwich. Others had club sandwich, butter bean soup, and salads. Some orders came with skillet corn bread that take corn bread to a whole new level. Also home... More

We've enjoyed Kurtz a few times for family events including birthdays, anniversaries, and a rehearsal dinner. The servers are sweet and they work hard. The food has never failed us! We would reccomend this to any outside visitors who want good Kentucky food. I do believe that it sometimes requires a reservation so I would call before you go.

Did the lunch soup and salad special, which was OK. The hot lunch options may have been a better choice in retrospect. A couple of customers who came in after liked their hot lunch a lot.

This is a family run restaurant with good home cooking. The homemade soup was flavorful and hot. Best part of the meals. Enjoyed an average salad with good dressing.

I felt like I was having dinner at Mom's...and I mean that in a good way! I swear they were bringing free appetizers to some of the diners. "Eat, Papa, eat!". Food was average, staff was attentive...all in all a nice evening totally saved by the homemade pumpkin pie. Ground cloves in the recipe too! Just like mine!

Kurtz is a Bardstown must eat restaurant. Between the traditional Hot Brown, their Bread pudding with Bourbon sauce, and a host of homemade confections, this is the place to put at the top of your list when visiting Bardstown.

Charming old building converted into an excellent restaurant with traditional fare. No draft beer but the selection in bottles is excellent along with wine and spirits. When in Kentucky, you must have a 'Kentucky Brown' sandwich which is a slice of white bread, sliced turkey white meat, cheddar cheese sauce, bacon, tomato slice which is served hot. They serve a...
