Did the lunch soup and salad special, which was OK. The hot lunch options may have been a better choice in retrospect. A couple of customers who came in after liked their hot lunch a lot.

This is a family run restaurant with good home cooking. The homemade soup was flavorful and hot. Best part of the meals. Enjoyed an average salad with good dressing.

I felt like I was having dinner at Mom's...and I mean that in a good way! I swear they were bringing free appetizers to some of the diners. "Eat, Papa, eat!". Food was average, staff was attentive...all in all a nice evening totally saved by the homemade pumpkin pie. Ground cloves in the recipe too! Just like mine!

Kurtz is a Bardstown must eat restaurant. Between the traditional Hot Brown, their Bread pudding with Bourbon sauce, and a host of homemade confections, this is the place to put at the top of your list when visiting Bardstown.

Charming old building converted into an excellent restaurant with traditional fare. No draft beer but the selection in bottles is excellent along with wine and spirits. When in Kentucky, you must have a 'Kentucky Brown' sandwich which is a slice of white bread, sliced turkey white meat, cheddar cheese sauce, bacon, tomato slice which is served hot. They serve a... We dined at Kurtz last week when we were in Bardstown. Was so impressed with the welcoming atmosphere, warm hospitality and in general, the food. My baked fish and grilled shrimp combo was okay but the other diners at our table raved about the roasted turkey breast/dressing/mashed potatoes dinners. Salads and breads were very good. We would definitely recommend this... More

My husband and I were in Kentucky on our anniversary to visit the Bourbon Trail and attend the Bourbon Festival. Kurtz was where we had our anniversary dinner. The featured cocktail that evening was the Mint Julep, and we each had one. It was EXCELLENT and such a pleasure to find a place that makes them with care! We also... More

It seems that this may be a restaurant that needs a bit of updating on their menu. Our table had fresh flowers and our service was swift. However our food was just average.. Soup was so so. Reuben's were good. Pumpkin pie was the standout! Go for a dessert after a bourbon tour!

We had a lovely lunch. The waitress was so friendly and checked on us often. The price was reasonable. We had the BEST sweet tea of our trip. Free refills!
