I became emotional eating here. The food was exactly like my grandmother's farm-fresh cooking. Thankfully they had Mint Juleps and Bourbon Sours to help me deal. Wonderful place to eat.

Had the skillet fried chicken and loved it! My husband had the pork chop and he said it was wonderful. Liked the atmosphere in this quant historic restaurant.

A family owned and operated restaurant-- it's a great place for comfort food and closely the both the downtown Bardstown area and Stephen Foster park, which is has "My Old Kentucky Home". We were told about the restaurant by local business owners while in town for the Bourbon Festival. It was certainly worth the visit.

A group of five couples from our neighborhood took another Bourbon Trail Trip together for the second year. Between our Maker's Mark and Jim Beam tours, we stopped at Kurtz for lunch. Several enjoyed the lunch specials or different sandwiches. Everyone was pleased with everything. Our waitress was very accommodating - even taking a group photo for us. It was... More

Kurtz Restaurant achieves its popularity among tourists and locals by providing friendly service of well-prepared local cuisine in a comfortable, home-like environment. The acoustic characteristics of the dining area were superb, allowing for quiet conversation without intrusion from the typical restaurant roar. Dinner was delicious, provided in ample (not over-sized) portions and could be preceded by a cocktail and followed... More

We judge a lot of places by the size of their glass of wine and Kurtz did not disaappoint. While the glas was not completely full, I've seen smaller pours for much higher prices. The Kurtz Restaurant has been listed as one of the 101 restaurants you must visit in Kentucky and they have well earned that title. I had... More

This restaurant was recommended by a local shop owner, as well as the host at our B&B. It was excellent from start to finish. Quaint setting in an old stone home with casual dining experience. The staff was friendly. Our waitress was helpful with menu suggestions. By her food descriptions I could tell she really had eaten and enjoyed the... More

For the price the mashed potatoes should have been real not instant. The beans were from a can. The turkey dressing was so salty couldn't eat it. The turkey tasted like it came out of a bag. The fried chicken was good. And the beets were good. The price was high for this food. The grandkids have taken over the... More

We ate here on the reccomandation of golf courses employee. We were not impressed. Instant potatoes, processed turkey and canned beans. My whole meal was way over salted. Worse of all was when I mentioned it to waitress (who was great) I heard her tell cook and she said thats what her family perfers to eat. At that point I... More
