Stopped during distillery visits for lunch. Had a slight wait, long enough to read various posted articles about the food. unfortunately the described foods are only served at dinner, not lunch. Bummer, my guilty pleasure are some chicken livers! Kurtz's has the pick 2 or 3 choices, which is a throw back I wish was more common. I was tempted... More

We enjoyed dinner at Kurtz's on a recent Friday night. We were visiting some our family who live in Bardstown and they told us this was their favorite dinner place. Stepping into Kurtz's is a trip down memory lane. I felt as if I were having Sunday dinner at a "fancy" place with my parents in the 60s. Old fashioned... More

My husband and I visited Kurtz's Restaurant last Wednesday evening. Our server was wonderful and very attentive! My husband ordered the hot roast beef sandwich and loved it. I ordered the skillet fried chicken with mashed potatoes and cream gravy. I expected the chicken to be skillet fried, not deep fried, so I was a little disappointed. To me, skillet... More

Definitely southern cooking! The fried chicken was awesome! The pickled beets they serve were delicious as well. The restaurant seems a little old/outdated decor, but the food will make up for it!

enjoyed our visit. Server was very nice; owner (assume it was: older lady) seemed not so hospitable. Food was very good: got the chicken. Loved the milk gravy and dessert (cobbler).

I saw this restaurant in AAA tour book and thought it sounded interesting. This was the best meal I have had since touring the South for the past week! The cooking was as good as my Mississippi grandmother's. Save room for the pies ... They are to die for. I highly recommend this family owned restaurant.

We (four couples) were doing the Bourbon Trail and started looking for a place to have dinner. The reviews on Trip-advisor looked interesting, so we thought we would stop in. We were seated around 8 pm on a Saturday night. Our waitress was Ann and she was absolutely the best. She remembered everything we requested and did it with a... More

Had lunch there yesterday with my friend and it was excellent. We had the luncheon special which was $9.95. 1/2 sandwich, bowl of soup and a piece of home made lemon mirangue pie that was to die for. Will definitely go back.

Kurtz is a staple of the Bardstown scene. They serve excellent down home southern food. We had ham, fried chicken, corn pudding and for dessert, their special bourbon biscuit pudding. It is definitely worth the calories!

We come to Bardstown often and always eat here at least once. Although the last time while in town we had dinner twice. My wife had the fried chicken livers I had the prime rib. The chicken livers were done but not crispy they tasted greasy and were wet like they had been warmed up. The prime rib was very... More
