Mediocre service. A weird barkeep. (Couldn't make a rye sour..) Okay food. It's a cute restaurant, though.

We asked some locals where we should go for dinner on a Saturday evening. The Rickhouse was not on their list. After reviewing the "Dining Guild" we chose the Rickhouse. Very hard to find, signage is minimal and hard to see. I was looking forward to a sampling of Bourbons; I understood from an ad that Bourbon was one of... More

In town on business. From previous reviews seemed like a good place for a steak and a couple of drinks. Sat at the bar and ordered a popular brand of whiskey with coke. I was informed that the only bartender was on vacation. They couldn't find what I ordered and didn't know enough to offer something similar. I asked about... More

Kind of hard to find in the dark. It's across the street from the municipal building. As you're looking at the restaurant's building, the entrance to the Rickhouse is on the left side - you walk down steps, the restaurant is partially below grade. Nice place. Kind of upscale rustic. Before we went, we were waiting for our traveling companions... More

We did not have a reservation but were able to be worked in. I did see that some who came later weren't as lucky as business did pick up, so I would recommend getting one. We had an absolutely wonderful waitress named Amanda. She was very attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu and the extensive bourbon selection. We both got... More

That pretty much sums it up. We waited at least 15 minutes for our beverages...how long does it take to get some coffee? Eventually we got our appetizer, and about 30 minutes after that we finally got our entrees. And the waiter got our order wrong, too. We wouldn't go back; the food is ok, but not worth that kind... Stumbled upon this fine establishment based on a recommendation from fellow travelers on the street. The food was amazing and the bar selection excellent. If you visit Bardstown check this out.

The steaks were fantastic and so was the service. We were seated in a booth that was kind of odd. Very good bourbon selection at reasonable prices. The lounge looked like a fun place to eat or drink.

During a recent stay in Bardstown, we asked the hotel staff for restaurant recommendations. They recommended The Rickhouse. We plugged the address into our GPS and when we were supposedly at the destination, we couldn't see any restaurant. There were beautiful old historic buildings but no restaurant, or sign. As we were turning around to leave, we noticed people coming... More

We were really charmed by atmosphere of this restaurant. Old brick arches adorned the entrance which appeared to be in an old basement. If these walls could talk!? Our steaks and our sides were good. My husband's wine had a lot of nats, yes, small flies, in it.. not one but several. He pretty much lost his appetite after that.... More
