Split decision

The best restaurant salad I have ever had in my life. My steak was great. Got the Brussel sprouts that were different. The hubby did not like his steak at all. $30 for a steak that was tough--no we did not complain.

We would never have known about this place if our Cab driver and Bartender, didn't recommend and show us where it was. It's off the beaten path in a basement. The place has great atmosphere, our meal was fabulous! I had the chicken cord au bleu crepes and my husband had the bourbon bbq chicken. His meal came with 2... More

Our party if four dined here last night for the first time while staying overnight in the Bardstown area. We were beyond impressed. From the food to the service and ambiance, we were impressed at every turn. The food: first, their homemade bread is the BOMB! We had 3 servings :) the crab cake appetizer was excellent. They fell apart... More

I have been in Bardstown for an extended stay. I have spent more at the Harrison Smith House ( still a good choice) and other establishments. Hands down to the Rickhouse for the great service, great food and loved the atmosphere. Your prices for food and bourbon flights are very reasonable. If we were staying another night you would have... More

Prices are steakhouse prices, but the food is amazing. Scalloped potatoes are wonderful. Husband thorougly enjoyed his steak. He could cut it with a butter knife. It is at the bottom of a large courthouse type building, so we did have trouble locating it at first.

Back again, second night. 1st night had the blueberry salmon and drinks. Which was fantastic, I came back a 2nd night. Tonight is drinks only only because I had an early dinner. The atmosphere is great and the staff and owner are friendly. I would highly recommend this establishment, whether you are with friends or a loved one.

We joined another couple here for dinner while visiting the area and had a good meal, though not without a couple of misses on the restaurant's part. The filets we ordered were very good, though overcooked by one label, e.g., our medium rare steak was a solid medium. But, they were very tasty and tender. The potatoes au gratin and... More

Recommended by our b&b host from Bourbon Manor, our reservation was early and the only one available. By the time we were finished and leaving it was clear why. The restaurant was packed by 7 pm with tourists from the bourbon trail as well as many locals. They would know! This is a steakhouse, no doubt about it. But my... More

Made a reservation for 14 on a Saturday night as part of a surprise birthday trip for my husband after distilleries tours. I'd done a lot of research before making the reservation, as most restaurants in this area serve mostly fried foods and pork (this group doesn't eat either). Everyone was pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere, drink and food options... More

We stopped in on a Friday evening after traveling. We waited 10 minutes for a table to be set up. The place was not busy at all. I ordered a glass of wine that was 1/4 th of a pour. Not a sample either. I would not recommend the salmon with it's bourbon blueberry sauce and couscous and spinach. The... More
