We are seasoned travelers who were in Louisville for a sporting event. Bardstown itself is a delightful small town on the Bourbon Trail. As non meat eaters we requested of this fixed menu restaurant salmon, which was a cheerfully met request. The entire locally grown meal of vegetables, corn, cornbread, salad was quite good and reasonably priced. The drinks were... More

We arrived around 9:30 Friday night slightly starving. Our hosts were the best! Dined al fresco, they started us out with yummy cheese spread and crackers. We gobbled up a really great ham sandwich and chips and finished off with potstickers. The history of Bardstown and bourbon that was shared with us was enjoyed by all! This is a must... More

We had a truly wonderful time at Chapeze House!!! The Colonel shared many stories of the house and Bardstown and we learned so much about the history of both. Margaret Sue and Rosemary prepared an amazing meal!! The salad and cornbread were FANTASTIC!!! The meal was huge but so delicious!! I am normally not a bit potato eater, but those... More

My husband and I stayed at Bourbon Loft at The Chapeze House. The hosts were very warm and welcoming. It's a great location to stay and be able to walk to the stores and restaurants downtown. It's very clean and taken care of. While the bathroom was very small and tight, it was done very well. We really enjoyed our... More

Four of us had dinner on a Monday evening, in fact, the only ones dining this night. If you like grilled pork chops, then this is the place to be. In fact, it is the only entre meat offerred. Reservations are necessary. Diners may pick drinks from a selection of flights. Service was very nice---no rush, food very good, and... More

Recently I was with a group touring Bardstown Kentucky.....we had reservations at the Chapeze House....To me, this was the best meal on the entire trip......there was a nice atmosphere inside and out. The pork chop reminded me of my childhood, on the fourth of July, the family would go to the river, grill pork chops that were special cut by... More

We stopped in for a drink after reading good things about this place. I'm not a big bourbon fan but my family are, so I was a bit uninterested. Until I tried the mint julep. First off, I got to pick my own mint, which was a treat. My goodness it was a heavenly julep. We sat out back and... More

We enjoyed a lovely dinner here, although it was not quite what we expected. The Colonel is having some health issues so was not able to speak with us during or after dinner. Dinner was very good, but perhaps over priced at $30 a plate. Alcoholic drinks are separate and a bit pricey, too. However, they had the best mint... More

My husband and I fully enjoyed our evening at Chapeze House. From the Chapezetini cocktail in the backyard, to the family style southern food pork chop dinner where we enjoyed laughs with the other dining room visitors. The highlight was the stories and hospitality from Margaret - ranging from a child ghost on the staircase to touring the cellars with... More

We stopped by Chapeze House while wandering around Bardstown. It was after dinner and there were few guests. The bartender was exceptionally friendly and very helpful in our bourbon selections. The outdoor seating was very nice. The drink prices were perhaps a bit high.
