Also Known As The "Kentucky Bourbon House", A Fantastic Bourbon University Experience!!!!

We came for "bourbon classes" as a Christmas gift. I was dubious (I mean, what could you possibly learn about bourbon in a multiple hour class?). I'd have to say, the doubt melted away once I met Colonel Masters and his fantastic bartender, Rosemary. I learned quite a bit and had a great time... read more

For Christmas, I decided to give my brothers and husband an "experience". Bourbon University was a great choice since all of them consider themselves bourbon connoisseurs. Colonel Michael was a wonderful host and great storyteller. Rosemary was an excellent bartender and very attentive to the gentlemen. Margaret served us a superb lunch that reminded us of one our grandfather would... More

Go by and see the Colonial. We were looking for the unique in our tour of Bardstown and happened to find this hidden jewel. The Colonial and his wife were cordial and their home/BnB was lovely. He also makes one heck of a Mint Julip. Take the time to go by and STOP . . . sit and talk. History... More

Southern cooking and great bourbons! What more could you ask for? Colonel Mike Masters and Margaret Sue do a fantastic job of representing just what the hospitality of Bardstown is all about.

We took the 2 hour cocktail class while on a recent trip to Kentucky. Margaret did a great job with the class. We learned 10 cocktails and got to be behind the bar to actually make the drinks. I can't wait to have friends over to make the Chapeze-tini. We didn't expect it but we got appetizers and delicious ham... More

From the minute we stepped onto the property until we walked to our car to depart, we had an amazing visit with Colonel and Margaret Sue. We were met at the front door with a warm welcome, given a tour, shared a mint julep and lots of stories. Our room was incredible from the decor to the comfort. We did... More

My husband and I, self-identified bourbon novices, registered for an afternoon of bourbon tasting and education with the Colonel and Margaret Sue. Not only did we learn about bourbon- what we liked and disliked (and why) but we also learned about the local heritage, lore, and civil war history. The Colonel and his sweet wife were highly hospitable and m... More

Spent a lovely afternoon with the Colonel and Margaret Sue learning all about bourbon through the tasting of approximately 15 different varieties, and also the Colonel's deep insight and knowledge. Included in this experience was a light Kentucky lunch including the most exquisite Pumpkin roll for dessert. The Colonel and Margaret Sue are the most gracious hosts, and both lovely... More

My boyfriend and I had reservations for Bourbon University at the Kentucky Bourbon House and couldn't have been more pleased with our visit. Because we are younger, we haven't gotten the opportunity to taste too many different types of bourbon. This experience helped us learn more about what we liked and didn't like as much. Not only did we love... More
