Go spend an evening with the Colonel. Its not about just the food which is excellent. It is not just about the bourbon drinks which are excellent. It is not just about the warm inviting atmosphere which is relaxing. It is the total experience which put me in mind of sitting with folks I like, drinking good whisky and eating... More

We had dinner at Chapeze House in April 2013. It was such a wonderful time that we said we would go back the next time in Bardstown. After returning to Michigan we kept telling our friends about our wonderful food and conversation with the Colonel and Margaret Sue. This past weekend we returned with 4 others and were not disappointed.... More

This was our best meal and bourbon drink in Bardstown. The cider bourbon drink was awesome and the food and service outstanding.

I was a little skeptical after reading some of the bad reviews and this is absolutely one of those cases were you can ignore the bad reviews. We had a great night with The Colonel and it was one of those nights to remember! It ended up just being my wife and I and another couple and that ended up... More

We made a reservation for dinner based on recommendation from a friend in Nashville. We arrived at 630 for cocktails. Rosemary made an incredible Manhattan with 100 proof Old Forester! We snacked on delicious beer cheese with crackers and got acquainted with the Colonel and other guests. The salad with homemade dressing was great. The pork chop was tender accompanied... More

I mistakenly made reservations for Oct. 10 rather than the 11th, which is when my party of five was to dine at Chapeze House. Margaret Sue phoned to check on our absence on the 10th, and when I apologized, she graciously extended our reservation to the next evening, and we were not disappointed. The Colonel, Daniel, Chef Rosemary, and Margaret... More

We shared some bourbon flights. It was earlier in the day so the kitchen was not 100% open but by the time we left we could order appetizers. The smells from the kitchen were awesome and the appetizer we shared hit the spot. Neat little place.

We are seasoned travelers who were in Louisville for a sporting event. Bardstown itself is a delightful small town on the Bourbon Trail. As non meat eaters we requested of this fixed menu restaurant salmon, which was a cheerfully met request. The entire locally grown meal of vegetables, corn, cornbread, salad was quite good and reasonably priced. The drinks were... More

We arrived around 9:30 Friday night slightly starving. Our hosts were the best! Dined al fresco, they started us out with yummy cheese spread and crackers. We gobbled up a really great ham sandwich and chips and finished off with potstickers. The history of Bardstown and bourbon that was shared with us was enjoyed by all! This is a must... More
