We had the soup and grilled cheese sandwich and the soup of the day was beef barley....delicious. The pie was on special for $1.98 and we both had a piece. I'd recommend this place. They have a salad bar, also.

My family and I were looking for a place to stop and eat when passing through Salina last weekend. We were going to go to Coyote Canyon, but they were closing in less than an hour. We drove by Russell's Family Diner and I had some vague recollections of the place from the 80's and so we decided to stop... More

We stopped here for breakfast on our way from Wisconsin to Texas. The diner has probably been there since the 70s and is well established as evidenced by the number of locals there having coffee. The waitress was very friendly and service was fast. The waitress, however, did not let us know about the large portions - no kidding mine... More

The food is good but pricey. Noon is ur best value. Iced tea is very good. Spaghetti is good and on certain days it's a good value. We split a plate it was so big. It is open late which helps since there is truck parking there.

I have only ever been here after leaving the bars. Until yesterday......It was not an amazing experience. The waitress was not very friendly. They weren't extremely busy but she didn't ever come back to check on us. Also, the register lady wasn't at her station and we had to wait a while to pay. The guy in front of us... More

We have stopped here whenever we are in the area. We were there about four days ago and ordered the catfish sandwich. It was one of the best fish we have had in a long time. The place is not fancy but food has always great and we will be stopping again when we go home.

We stop at Russell's when we want a good breakfast. They serve breakfast anytime. Their pies are great if one has room after eating a meal. Last year we are here on Thanksgiving day. They had all of the traditional Turkey Day choices for a reasonable choice. Best of all - no dishes!

We always make sure to eat breakfast at Russell's when we are passing through Salina. Friendly country service. Keep the coffee cups full. Portions are huge. They always have something really interesting for a special like prime rib and eggs, or a Philly cheese steak omelet. Don't miss it if you are there.
