Pork tenderloin sandwich was excellent and we also liked the fried chicken special too- portions are very generous- consider splitting the plate or take some home-- the waitress was friendly and efficient - handy location right near the Interstate too

Russell's has been around for years. We used to meet my parents there as we traveled from both ends of the state to get together. Not much has changed and the food thankfully is still as delicious as ever. If you like good basic home-cooked food this is your spot. We went for breakfast this visit (but really for the... More

Classic diner. Doesnt look fancy from the outside at all (or inside either) but what a great breakfast and for a good price. I had eggs that were cooked like I asked them and link sausage. It showed up with 4 huge link sausage. Hash browns were not spared by any means. Would make a point to go back if... More

We were recently looking for some place to eat in Salina, KS and noticed the sign for Russell's Restaurant. The building didn't look like much at all, but we thought we check it out regardless. We went in with the intention of simply asking to look at a menu. Once inside the atmosphere was a bit more appealing that the... More

We stopped in for an early dinner. Their salad bar could use some major improvement. I had the chicken fry which wasn't the best I've ever had but not the worst. My 8yr old had breakfast & said it was good. My 15 yr old went for the burger & wasn't impressed. Our waitress was friendly but in the 1... More

We had the soup and grilled cheese sandwich and the soup of the day was beef barley....delicious. The pie was on special for $1.98 and we both had a piece. I'd recommend this place. They have a salad bar, also.

My family and I were looking for a place to stop and eat when passing through Salina last weekend. We were going to go to Coyote Canyon, but they were closing in less than an hour. We drove by Russell's Family Diner and I had some vague recollections of the place from the 80's and so we decided to stop... More

We stopped here for breakfast on our way from Wisconsin to Texas. The diner has probably been there since the 70s and is well established as evidenced by the number of locals there having coffee. The waitress was very friendly and service was fast. The waitress, however, did not let us know about the large portions - no kidding mine... More
