Made the 120 mile drive worthwhile

We had to make a trip to Pittsburg and decided to try Chicken Annie's. The restaurant is rich in history. The service is fast and friendly. The decor is fun. You can't go wrong with anything you order but of course you have to have the chicken and I highly recommend the German Potato Salad. I... read more

If you like chicken, you'll like Chicken Annie's. The food is good, the atmosphere is good, even the old guy at the cashier is fun to talk to. The only disappointment I had was the wait for the food. It took a while, more than 20 minutes for sure. But they have some fried onion rings that could help make... More

If you only time for one meal let this be you guide... Marys - for larger portions and better sides. Annies - for better tasting chicken

Just a great place to get chicken in Kansas. They have the whole bird down to an art. And the chicken livers and gizards are great too. And don't forget the German Potato Salad and Cole Slaw!Great place to ride to from the Kanss CIty area.

Apparently Chicken Annie's was bested by Chicken Mary's in a contest. Visiting relatives and friends in the area, we heard different opinions, each one having their own favorite. Apparently it's a must do when visiting the area. And, the trip to find them is certainly interesting - talk about the middle of nowhere! I liked both of them - awesome... More

I grew up in that area and anytime I visit I just have to have my chicken fix. Of course, the onion rings are a must. They're thin and crispy. You can't find rings like that just anywhere. The other sides of German potato salad and German cole slaw are also necessary to have the full SE KS experience. What... More

We were there on Father's Day and there was a line. We waited 45 minutes for our table. The onion rings and fried mushrooms were great. But the highlight was their chicken, which stayed crispy (you can still hear the crunch when you bite into it) even when cold, refrigerated from the lunch meal and eaten late at night. Plus... More
