Description: Our farm-raised, grain-fed catfish is far superior to his muddy river...
Our farm-raised, grain-fed catfish is far superior to his muddy river cousin. Scientifically-bred and carefully tended, he has all but acquired a pedigree now that Gourmet magazine rates him the third-best-selling fish in America.Higher in protein than most meats, our freshwater catfish is becoming exceedingly popular among health-conscious American diners-and with good reason. Not only is our catfish low in cholesterol, fat and calories, he also rates high in aesthetic appeal since he has no fishy smell. It is also nutritious, healthy and downright delicious. Now, will we see you at the Annual World Catfish Festival in Mississippi next year? Or at least back at the Jumpin' Catfish next week! We will also cater for 40-500 people just about anywhere!! We come to you and cook in our catering wagon so all the food is cooked and hot on the spot!

Can't Beat the Catfish Filet

Loved the breaded catfish filet- they do it just right: not to heavy on the breading; not greasy & cooked just right so it's tender. Wedge fries, however, were oily, heavy, and cold (the reason I didn't give 5 stars). Cole slaw is just the way I like it-- on the sweet side.

In years gone by, Jumpin Catfish was my favorite Johnson County restaurant. I have to admit that the last time we were there, we noticed some changes. Nevertheless, the food was yummy and the owner & workers were delightful as always. The prices seem a tad high to me, but where else can you get this kind of comfort food... More

Great family restaurant! As in past visits the catfish served are excellent! Fried catfish is fantastic, it's so fresh and no strong "fish" flavor.. Crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth on the inside. Served with slaw, beans and ham and hush puppies. The staff is super friendly.

I eat here at least once a month, sometimes more. I love the family style servings of coleslaw, white beans and hush puppies. I've been eating there for 10 years since I moved to Olathe, The catfish bites are perfect. I hate coleslaw -EXCEPT THEIRS. I will even go buy a container of coleslaw for home.

The food was average. Entree size is average. However, they gave complimentary all you can eat hushpuppy, cole slaw, and ham/white beans. So you will go away full. The fried chicken was not tasty enough. Their salmon was average and portion was small with the higher price. The have daily special with all you eat of this and that. If... More

Excellent price performer - good food. Decor a little dated, but clean. The salad bar was adequate and the hush puppies were excellent.

I've been to Jumpin Catfish a total of three times. I've ordered the chicken fried steak each time and all have been different experiences. I will talk about the last time, as it made me have a skewed view of the restaurant. We had a large party, perhaps eight people. Everyone ordered something different, I stuck to what I knew.... Went for a family lunch. Food was okay, service lacked a little. The wildlife decor was interesting for the kids to look at.

Don't miss this restaurant even if you don't like fish or seafood. Great food, large portions and reasonably priced. Our party of 8 tried just about everything they had to offer and nobody was disappointed. The owner even came out to visit. Friendly service and cocktails available. The hunting lodge atmosphere was just icing on the cake. The only negative... More

Walking in, you feel like you are in a hunting lodge. The staff is super friendly. Fried catfish is fantastic, it's so fresh and no strong "fish" flavor...just deliciousness. When you sit down they bring a bowl of hushpuppies, coleslaw and beans to the table to get you started. You can get frog legs, quail, lobster, shrimp or my fav...catfish... More
