It was the perfect ending of my day. I wanted some good food and thats what i got to include great service. I will always choose to visit this restaurant when i want more than just basic fast food. The barbecue and catfish was delicious.

We dined here on Nov 1 ahead of a KSU FB game. We are very experienced at attending games and dining throughout Manhattan on game day so this ended up being a huge disappontment. My husband ordered for 6 of us, we were seated relatively promptly and then we waited over an hour for our food to arrive! During this... More

My wife and I visited Cox Brothers for an early dinner on a Saturday. We each ordered 1/2 slab of ribs. The ribs were moderately sized and were tender. My wife enjoyed a side of pineapple cole slaw and I chose the baked beans, which were good as well. The food was a bit pricey (about $15 for 1/2 slab... More

Kansas City is known for it's BBQ with Oklahoma Joe's having national attention. Cox Brothers, in Manhattan, can go toe to toe with Oklahoma Joe's. Cox Brothers offers the standard range of Kansas City style BBQ while adding some features from other areas. An often overlooked menu item in KC BBQ's is sausage. The BBQ sausage at Cox Brothers is... More

Being from Texas it's always interesting to try BBQ from other states. I had a sliced brisket sandwich with coleslaw. Brisket had great taste with nice smoke ring and very little fat. Onion Rings are great too. They have an assortment of different sauces.

I would rate the BBQ, but unable to do so from our visit. We never tried it. Very strange experience. We had a party of 8 and were going to get the family platter they advertised so we could sample various types of meat along with sandwiches. We tried to order and they were out of several items including pulled... More

We decided to go out this evening even though we were tired. I wanted something good, unpretentious, without a long wait. This is it! I walked in ordered a pulled pork platter with pineapple slaw and potatoe salad and a pulled pork sandwich with onion rings. As we waited for our meal, there were several tvs to watch. The staff... All I've heard from friends and coworkers since they found out I'm in Kansas for a week. It's the best pork or beef BBQ anywhere. As stated our NC brisket isn't great, but then neither is this. I didn't try the pork, and won't based on the beef. Not that it was terrible, just no flavor. Very lean cuts of... More

My kids and I ate here for the first time based on reviews and location. We had the pulled pork plate. The meat was pretty dry. The bbq sauces (big variety) and sides were all good. Employees were friendly and helpful and food came out quick. We would definitely eat here again but would try something different.

This was our first time eating at this place and it was fantastic! The food was excellent. The portions were big. They had many sauces to pick from. It was a great meal.
