Stopped in for lunch with my wife. The decor is nice and it smelled great in there. Ordered some kind of platter and was told if I wanted brisket it would be an upcharge because brisket is a premium meat?? Seriously?? Brisket is a "premium" meat...since when? Ordered my side item and was told that would be an upcharge because... More

I was expecting a sit down meal with a menu and was a little concerned that there weren't many people dining at this restaurant but I had a good experience. You walk up to the counter to order and the food is delivered to you. There is a self serve soda machine. The food was tasty and there are several... More

I just saw the sign for the restaurant while trying to decide on a lunch spot and went in. The staff saw me looking around and immediately started helping me make my food choices. I got their Big Memphis sandwich and a side of baked beans. The meat was very tender and full of smoky flavor. I loved it.

The variety of good sauces helped make the meal a winner! We enjoyed the brisket very much! Great service, clean and comfortable.

It was the perfect ending of my day. I wanted some good food and thats what i got to include great service. I will always choose to visit this restaurant when i want more than just basic fast food. The barbecue and catfish was delicious.

We dined here on Nov 1 ahead of a KSU FB game. We are very experienced at attending games and dining throughout Manhattan on game day so this ended up being a huge disappontment. My husband ordered for 6 of us, we were seated relatively promptly and then we waited over an hour for our food to arrive! During this... More

My wife and I visited Cox Brothers for an early dinner on a Saturday. We each ordered 1/2 slab of ribs. The ribs were moderately sized and were tender. My wife enjoyed a side of pineapple cole slaw and I chose the baked beans, which were good as well. The food was a bit pricey (about $15 for 1/2 slab... More

Kansas City is known for it's BBQ with Oklahoma Joe's having national attention. Cox Brothers, in Manhattan, can go toe to toe with Oklahoma Joe's. Cox Brothers offers the standard range of Kansas City style BBQ while adding some features from other areas. An often overlooked menu item in KC BBQ's is sausage. The BBQ sausage at Cox Brothers is... More

Being from Texas it's always interesting to try BBQ from other states. I had a sliced brisket sandwich with coleslaw. Brisket had great taste with nice smoke ring and very little fat. Onion Rings are great too. They have an assortment of different sauces.

I would rate the BBQ, but unable to do so from our visit. We never tried it. Very strange experience. We had a party of 8 and were going to get the family platter they advertised so we could sample various types of meat along with sandwiches. We tried to order and they were out of several items including pulled... More
