We enjoyed a good breakfast here at this Lawrence mainstay. While the omelets and hash browns were good, the bread stole the show. Artisan selections which made for great French Toast! I wish our community back home had a place like this. Definitely a great dining option!

My son and I came here after reading reviews. We are from a large urban city which has excellent food choices including bakeries, but were pleasantly surprised to find this place. It definitely has a "hippie" vibe but very good quality and good food. I had a sandwich made with eggplant which we split and then he would not share... More

What a great place for breakfast. Everything cooked fresh. More than enough pastries and fresh bread to die for. I would rate it as one of the top bakeries and cafes I have ever seen. Great espresso and caps. And the smell of the fresh bread baking is orgasmic. We stayed the night at the Virginia Inn (another top rated... More

Not a fancy place, but when you walk in you are fretted by cases of homemade bread and pastries. They all look beautiful! The Ham and Roasted Pineapple sandwich was excellent. Good quality ham, fresh pineapple, onion and a jalapeño pepper sauce. It was spicy but not too spicy. This sandwich was served on toasted sour dough. It was a... More

We stopped by for a sandwich while on our way West to Colorado. Excellent Turkey with cranberry sauce on Walnut sage bread. Had an ice tea and chips--couldn't be better! We also took home Seminole, French and Ciabatta rolls and a cinnamon brioche! Definitely give it a try !

This is seriously the best place in the state of Kansas to get an amazing loaf of bread. Baked out of the wood-fired oven, crafted with love, and sold fresh daily. If an artisan loaf of bread isn't what you're looking for, then try one of their sandwiches. These are crafted with local ingredients and definitely add another whole dimension... More

I stopped by this bakery on my way out of town and absolutely loved it! When I walked in it was crowded with people and the line was long. They have a nice display of their items. I got a lemon curd tart which was $3.10. Like I said it's a bit pricey, but it was delicious. The tart was... More
