My friend recalled the Aladdin from when she was a Lawrence resident, so chose it for dinner as we passed through town yesterday. We were hungry and wanted it all, but decided instead to be reasonable and have a plate that included a good variety. We both ordered a plate that included falafel, dolmati, hummus, baba ghanouj , genie dip,... More

I was expecting somewhat close to authentic greek food... greek salad? That's not a greek salad. Rice and grape leaves - oversoaked in vinegar. Tsaziki sauce was unrecognizable, it was more like milk than sauce... so disappointing. The meat was decent enough. The pita was, however, amazing. And we had hoped to finish off our meal with tiramisu, but they... More

We had the gyro sandwiches with rice and salad for $7.95. Huge amount of food for the price and the gyro was a as good as we've ever had. Also had the spinach pastry appetizer and it was wonderful. Love this place.

It's tough in small towns like this to find things that are quality. Most things come out of a can or box. This food tastes mainly quality. I have had better of everything, but I will come back here, and I often go to the buffet on Sunday mornings.

My wife had heard good things about Aladdin Café in downtown Lawrence (Mass Street), so we figured we would give it a try while a friend was visiting from Colorado. She had never had middle-Eastern food before and was enticed by the unfamiliar smells emanating from the kitchen. As we entered there were two parties seated out of probably 20... More

Excellent lentil soup, went after (and received) the recipe for this one. Good chicken schwarma. Went back a couple of days later for more lentil soup and hummus, baba ghanouj, veggies. Service is friendly, prices are reasonable.

Have been here twice this month. The food is pretty straight forward--Mediterranean Greek inspired dishes. Our group enjoyed the lentil soup. The appetizers (house made hummus, baba ghanouj, feta, dolma to etc.,) The dishes ordered ranged from a vegetarian cauliflower to chicken kabob. It really is good eating! What we have a hard time with, is the old style TV... More
