Great carvery

I don't particularly like carveries. They are normally dry and lack a decent portion of meat. We ate at the plough on a Sunday when only carveries are an option and I wasn't looking froward to it however the food was really very good and very fresh. The portion of meat was more than sufficient and... read more

The staff try their best and cannot be faulted for effort. We arrived to be given a table in the so called 'Den'. This area had a problem with unstable tables which ourselves and the next table needed to stabilize with available table objects. The order at the bar system although common in sports bars does not in my opinion... More

Gave this place another chance after a dismal previous visit and I'm afraid...no change! Customer service here is APPALLING! The older lady serving behind the bar was distracted, abrupt and rude. She seemed inconvenienced to have to serve me four cokes! Sent one of my kids back in to ask for ice, which was unceremoniously thrown at them in a... More

We visited as a group of 20 for a works party. The staff, particularly the manageress were all friendly and helpful, the pub itself is charming and traditional and the gardens on a nice evening are a good size. We plumped for a two courses for £9.95 and most of us went for the carvery. I have to say it... More

A very attractive country Pub, plenty of parking, spacious dining room and a good menu. But poorly trained staff and sloppy service spoilt what could have been a very nice lunch. It is sad to see investments made in the infrastructure which are wasted by not investing in the people who run the enterprise. This has been a really good... More

They squeezed us into an hour's time slot as they were booked out (which we thought was a good sign). Fair number of locals too, again a good sign. Carvery was fantastic in quality and quantity and at £9.95 for 2 courses is fantastic value. Lovely desserts which can be taken away as we did as we ran out if... More

This pub is owned by the same people who run the Oak at Broadwas so we had high expectations. We werent disappointed and the menu was virtually identical to the Oak. 2courses for 9.95 or 3 for 11.95. Good quality food served by polite waitresses. Perfect for a Tuesday night. The pub itself has a nice atmosphere with a modern... More

I don't usually like Carvery food, but this is soooo good, you can't help but pile our plate up, feel embarrassed about the amount of food you have but still manage to eat it. Excellent value for money and well worth a visit
