Great Restaurant!

Lovely place. Great food and service and really good value. Portions are large and you will never leave this place feeling less than stuffed! Would recommend for a perfect pub meal.

Visited on a Sunday lunch time, didn't realise they only offered the carvery option (can't see that mentioned on their website), although the food was ok it does feel a bit like eating in a transport cafe, with the staff hovering to clear away plates and lay up for the next customer. No-one spoke to us during the visit, there... More

A friend from Yorkshire recommended this pub for its Carvery. Good quality and value for money. It was because we had just re-located into the area. She was absolutely correct, which is a good job as we were taking our family and it could have been embarrassing! It most certainly was not!!

An excellent selection of vegetables means you are spoilt for choice at the carvery, where the roast pork, beef or turkey is tender, moist and nicely cooked. Portions are very generous and staff are pleasant and friendly. Puds are scrumptious, the atmosphere is friendly and informal, prices are reasonable for a two-course meal. What's not to like? This is a... More

We booked a table of six for a belated birthday celebration in a nice country pub with nice welcoming staff. We all went for the three course special at £11.95 and four ordered the Broccolli and Stilton soup, later was told the chef had dropped the soup so none was available, so we had to have the Garlic mushrooms which... decided to treat my daughter to a carvery one lunch time knowing in the past the plough never dissepoints. We paid for our carvery and was shown to our table promptly. Then proceeded to the serving counter for what seemed to an enternity waiting for the chef to make a guest appearance. This gave me ample time to inspect to what... More

Food was overcooked. If you want a mound of food on your plate with little regard to the taste, this is the place for you! My family and I would prefer less of better quality. Overpriced at £10.95 with an extra £4.95 for dessert. Had to queue for a considerable time for the carvery, which is OK as long as... More

Stopped off on the way back from a trip. We were accommodated at a very busy time. The service was good. The food was good and the place is nice. I would recommend it

I've been to the Plough and Harrow on many occasions and personally always been very impressed by the carvery. There's always an excellent selection of vegetables and generally a choice of three meats. The veg is replenished regularly so you don't end up with the dregs. The dauphinois potatoes and the red cabbage are particular favourites of mine. My mum's... More

We went here for a family celebration meal, we had booked well in advance, but when we arrived they couldn't find our booking we had to wait while they tried to find a suitable table & were sent to a table sent for 16 when there were only 5 of us. When we finally did get to a table it... More
