Lovely old world pub/restaurant set off the main routes down country lanes. This is a regular dining spot for the couple we were with but it was our first visit. Menu is extensive for all 3 courses - anyone should find a few meals to suit them. I am a fussy diner and had difficulty choosing - the best selection... More

We had a fantastic meal here to celebrate our anniversary. The choice of dishes made it hard to decide, but the pear,Stilton and walnut starter was a triumph. The steak dishes were perfect and the sweet trolley was too much of a temptation to refuse. All those homemade confections! And the service was first class. Wow! We will be going... More

Recently, my wife and I dined here for the first time on our wedding anniversary. What an experience! It roused memories of marvellous dinners that we enjoyed in the seventies, before nouvelle cuisine spread pretentiousness through ever smaller portions. Our starters of devilled whitebait were plump and juicy encased in the thinnest crispy peppery coatings. Only anticipation of dishes to... More

Fabulous meal. The chocolate mousse was to die for. Well, it did for my diet!! Old Girls AGM so there were about 50 ladies. It was the first time at this restaurant and they did us proud. We had pre-chosen our starters and main courses and when they came they were huge!! Then when I thought it couldn't get any... More

Friends took us to this beautiful pub restaurant for lunch. The owner was very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and well presented. The waiting staff however, should try and improve their communication skills. Overall an enjoyable visit.

First, the good bit - great pint of Doom, a Cornish real ale. Unfortunately the rest followed the name of the beer. Ordered the soup of the day (tomato with basil) - Juiliano (owner) kept making jokes about it being Heinz. Actually, he may not have been joking. Quite good soup, but no taste of basil, and the green garnish... More

This restaurant is a touch of nostalgia it is like going back to the 70's or 80's. The family run business and long serving staff is fabulous. Your steak may be cooked at your table it is pure theatre enjoy.

We were slightly dubious about the meal as there were not many people in the restaurant. I am so glad we stayed. My wife had the scallops as a starter and I had the whitebait, the sauce with the scallops was great and the whitebait had a lovely bite to them. Main course was steak, I do not believe I... More
