This is the nicest carvery I think we have ever had. The meat was perfectly cooked, the beef did literally melt in the mouth. Vast choice of veg from peas and carrots and potatoes and cabbage, to parsnips and roasted onions and excellent roast potatoes, also cauliflower cheese and gratan sliced potatoes. Really nice atmosphere and great staff. At £9.95... More

This is a beautiful, country pub that is charming, calm, warm and friendly. The food is so tasty and well cooked from the amazing carvery (piping hot and including a wealth of yummy accompaniments/ trimmings) to the steaks and traditional pub meals. We have been many times and will continue to support this lovely place.

Just love the food at this place, you most definately need to book as it is so popular and hard to get a seat. The pub is well known for it's wonderful buffet carvery. There is always a fantastic selection of vegs and cooked to perfection. Simply wonderful and we have been going for years and years to this place... More

Went for a meal Easter Sunday evening. After they finally sorted out the confusion over the table booking, the carvery was good, but sadly the range of puddings was disappointing. Will try again but will go for lunch when there might be more selection.

Went here for Easter Sunday for the carvery. It get's busy - a sign of how popular the place it. The food is of good enough quality considering how many people they cater for, good size portions and the price is very reasonable. Its success is its problem. It get's very busy on a Sunday and this takes some of... More

We went for a retirement do and had been there several times before but not for a while. Food was the same, good portions, decent quality, the carver is deservedly well known and thought of. I had lamb shank and was very happy with it. Desserts I'm not so sure, far too sweet for me if that makes sense. We... More

Well, not our most enjoyable visit to The March Hare which looks as though it is under new management! We all agreed that the starters were rather expensive for what we received - large dishes but not a large quantity, or medium quantity, of garlic mushrooms! When our main courses arrived we were rather surprised that the waiter didn't notice... More

Have been to this pub many times for a carvery meal, always excellent quality with so much vegetable choice and superb gravy. Best to book a table as there is regularly a coach party in at lunch time so be prepared to queue for the carvery.

Came here over easter. The food was excellent, the carvery is outstanding with plenty of choice.just a word of warning, take extra care at the carvery as the serving spoons get very hot, almost too hot to handle! Will be returning.
