An average looking pub, with a wonderful carvery..

Good reviews attracted me to this pub when organising a large family get together. From the outside, the pub looked like a typical chain, and the inside was uninspiring. Large, fairly characterless and a little bit jaded. The young, mainly female staff though were confident, efficient and friendly. But the carvery? Wow. The turkey, pork and beef were brilliantly cooked... More

We took are mothers here for a motherday surprise meal. The cavery here is to die for, the small standing by to wait your turn is nothing as you prepare for asking for a bit of each on the meat and the amount you get is amazing. Very friendly staff and you are not rushed to get the next people... More

Found this pub by accident and didn't expect it to be so good. Lovely staff, very friendly & cosy. And yummy food. Good family pub. Will definitely be returning very soon. X

Called in for a quick lunch on a Monday, very quiet (usually it's always packed) No lunchtime carvery but the normal menu was available, we had sirloin steak and the tarragon chicken. The steak comes with huge onion rings! Everything was lovely and of course the cakes cabinet was full up so finished off with a yummy mint choc torte.... More

Taking a scenic cross country route on our way to West Wales on a Saturday, we stopped off to have lunch at The March Hare; the car park was busy which suggested this is a popular pub. The pub itself is very nice and we discovered the restaurant has a carvery. Whilst busy, we were able to find a table.... More

Despite the rather confusing sign outside offering 2 course carvery at £9.95 on Tuesday to Friday, this being a Bank Holiday Monday we were pleased that the carvery was open although it was still £9.95 for just the one course. Why have the sign outside? It wasn't too busy so there was a good, relaxed efficient atmosphere and the staff... More

Whilst in the area I visited this Inn on Sunday 26th April 2015 with a friend at lunch time. The Inn is full of character, yet well presented. The premises was known by reputation by my friend. It was very busy, but the staff were extremely helpful. We had pre-booked our table the previous day. The choice, presentation and quality... More

Travelling from Devon to Nottingham we pulled off the motorway to find a pub lunch. The March Hare had a full car park, always a good sign, so we pulled in. We were welcomed at the bar and could see the fantastic looking carvery. Sadly we only wanted a light lunch, so ordered the fish and chips. It was huge!... More
