Popped into The Dove during a circular walk of this lovely area. It's an unassuming little place with friendly staff, good beer and terrific food. Highly recommended.

Went for Sunday lunch with mother who has been there before. They recognised her straight away and were very welcoming. The waiter recommended the Polish meat plate for starters, it was great if not a little too much for one! I had the roast beef, was cooked perfectly but no room for dessert unfortunately because they looked delicious. Will be... More

We were lucky enough to spend a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon in this picturesque village pub 'The Dove'. A buzzy, quirky, friendly pub with heaps of atmosphere and although a small menu, the food choices were diverse. Beetroot smoked salmon so fresh and delicate, a whole baked Camembert which we all had to dip into! The roast's were perfect. Beef... More

What a result, my birthday fell on the night of the wine tasting dinner!! We were welcomed with lovely glass of pink champagne to go with the super smooth chicken liver parfait followed by scallops and a superb white wine. Main course was a fantastic fillet of beef and yes you've guessed, more wine, this time red then a then... More

I came here with my mum for dinner, it's quite a small pub which is quite nice, and played nice background music. The wood burner was cosy and generally a nice atmosphere, great for a nice catch up with mum. The food was gorgeous, I had smoked salmon to start, and a fillet of beef for main which was beautiful... Sunday lunch on a cold February day was excellent. The pub is small and cosy and the food hot and freshly cooked. Pork, roast potatoes and roasted root vegetables, plus a huge tasty Yorkshire pud, was perfect, as was the sticky toffee pudding, caramel sauce and ice cream for afters. Friendly owner, nice background music and an all round good... More

Visited for the first time on a Sunday, with my partner and our 8 stone herding dog. All 3 of us were made to feel extremely welcome and every member of staff we encountered was friendly and professional. The atmosphere is lovely and the candles, music, lighting and decor all make it quite quirkily romantic. On to the food. Wow!... More
