great food and fab staff

Found this pub as we were staying in the area for a wedding. Had lunch in the garden as it was a glorious day. The food was very good and the staff could not have been more accommodating. We had three courses each and three glasses of wine for just over £60 for two people. Well worth it.

Booked a Sunday afternoon meal for family and friends, nice setting in the countryside, was looking forward to the meal and had read on here and told friends that the place had good reviews. Starters were okay, when the main roast meat meals came out, the roast pork was disappointing as the crackling part which was on the menu was... More

If you like food and atmosphere that keep it simple and honest, then the Dove Inn in Dargate is for you. Unlike its more famous local competitor The Sportsman, the Dove does not go in for flamboyant ingredients (salted caramel? seaweed butter? really?). Instead, the food--in my case sea bream, new potatoes and asparagus--actually tastes as nature intended, with a... More

Best evening meal in a long time. The chicken supreme was divine and no fatty sauce. Excellent wine and good selection of ales. Absolutely delicious. Lovely friendly staff too. A hidden gem.

Went to The Dove with some friends on Friday, and was met by the lovely Landlady Dee and her staff. We decided to sit in the beautiful garden to try out the homemade pizzas, which were made for us on the home built pizza oven. Lots of various toppings to choose from and fresh herbs also. I would say that... More

I heard about the Dove from a friend and checked it out on Trip Advisor. The good reviews convinced me to visit this English country pub in the tiny village of Dargate. The village is about 20 miles from my home in Sandwich but my wife and friends were up for the scenic views around the coast so we set... More

Booked for Sunday lunch after a friend recommended. Allocated a very busy table right by the door, ordered starters two terrines. After 20 minutes one was served to my wife I was told 'we haven't got any left you'll have to order something else'. ordered Pate which arrived five minutes after my wife and guest had finished their starter. The... More

We were advised to come and visit The Dove and we're looking forward to it, but we came away being very disappointed. To start we ordered drinks, and I know the chap serving was very new but he was too inexperienced to be left on his own. Out of the four drinks, the first two they could not do -... More

Went here with a small group to celebrate the wedding of some good friends. It was on a Wednesday lunchtime so was not too busy. Very pretty location and lovely pub inside. Service was excellent and the food was astounding! I haven't had a meal that good in a very long time. Worth every penny. They really took care of... More
