Excellent atmosphere

We love the relaxing, cozy romantic feel of the atmosphere. Love all the fire places. Wonderful wines and tasty meals. Is not gourmet but freshly made and delicious. With wine, steak and seafood we get a pretty big bill but have been here 3 times and becoming a favorite.

The décor is classy without being too fancy. The service was excellent and the food was exceptional. We started with the fried mozzarella and we expected cheese sticks. Instead the appetizer was a single piece of mozzarella (large) that was fried and topped with marinara sauce. It was better than any fried mozzarella I have ever had. Our salads were... More

Fire Creek is an excellent place to lunch or go to in the evening. I have never had a bad meal there and just the other day had a blackened salmon sandwich for lunch that was prepared nicely and of good taste. My other meals there have been as good, and the wait staff is helpful and courteous.

Whenever you want to have a quiet evening after a busy, rough and hectic day, there are not too many places here in Greater Des Moines where you could really unwind. My suggestion would be Fire Creek. We had a very busy week - both in the family, at the workplace and the last and not the least the weather... More

We stopped in Wednesday night to check out the Fire Creek. The décor inside is cozy with a classy lodge feel. A nice place for a romantic dinner. Can't wait it enjoy the fireplaces when the temps cool down. We sat on the patio and had great service. Their apps are $6 during Happy Hour and consist of wonderful upscale... More

Liked the seafood special and the margarita was very good. Had the carrot cake for dessert. It was big enough to split 5 ways. Waiter was very nice.

On a road trip from Kansas City to the Twin Cities, we decided to forgo fast food and try a local restaurant. Trip Advisor led us to a delicious lunch with friendly service. My husband liked his gyro sandwich and I had great fish tacos. Two caveats with the tacos: the homemade tortillas are very fragile, creating a knife-and-fork meal,... More

this is near our home, and our first choice for dining out and entertaining. it is the perfect blend of casual and elegant. you can dress casually or dress up. sometimes they have bands. their martini specials are excellent and the food is just great. I've had the herbed chicken, asiago encrusted chicken/halibut, teriyaki mahi mahi, chicken marsala. Never disappointed.... More

Although we had never been to Fire Creek, (and we had heard mixed reviews about it) we were happy to discover that the food is SO good. My husband was raving for the rest of the evening about how flavorful and well grilled his steak was, and my ribs were perfectly saucy and tender. As usual with steakhouses, most meals... More

Food was just okay, and ambiance reminded me a little of a rehabbed chain restaurant. Brown sugar scallops and prime rib were our dinner selections; food doesn't hold a candle to some other upscale restaurants in town - Baru 66, Trostel's Dish, Flemings, 801 Chophouse all boast better food for the money.
