Loved the authentic atmosphere

We visited La Juanita based on others' reviews. It was a fun place to eat - made us feel like a local. I'm not sure what is up with the spiced carrots - they must be a local favorite - but not many of us liked them. Overall, good atmosphere and large portions.

Try not to go during peak hours,. Oh wait a minute, it's always peak hours at La Juanita. Everyone eats there! You always feel welcome. As evidenced by the vast variety of patrons at any given time. The line may be long but it goes fast. Specials, dinners and Ala carte. Take out is a quick dinner option. My favorite... More

La Juanita's is my most frequented restaurant in Sioux City, IA. They have the best burritos in town by far!

My wife and I ate here on a suggestion from a friend and found it to be a fun local eatery with that simplified service of a no frills diner. We had to wait in line as it worked it's way to the counter to order and then help ourselves to a beverage before finding ourselves a booth. We found... More

Maxim and other reviews are right This food is great. Fish tacos, beef and bean burritos, and shrimp cocktail soup are my favorites. Believe the hype. Have cash though. No credit. Go in front door to avoid people asking for money aggressively, if you are a woman by herself.

I'm not sure what the big deal is about this place. I have eaten there 3 or 4 times and each time was mediocre. The first time was awful. I had fish tacos and got sick. The meat is the same as any other mom and pop mexian place. No frills is right. 5 out of 10 I would say

Who ever you are that mentioned La Juas is Tex Mex. You need to go back to Texas and stay there. I've been eating @ La Juas since I was 11 years old. Before they were famous . You cant get anymore authentic. 17 years later and they still have the best AUTHENTIC tacos on the planet. Hands down

La Juanita's is one of our absolute favorite places to eat. The food is delicious and reasonably priced and the place is locally owned. Most of the menu is Mexican and that is what I'd recommend getting, but they also have chicken strips for kids, plus burgers that are surprisingly tasty, so no need to choose somewhere else if there's... We love La Juanita and stopped for a late supper on a Friday night. A local high school's football game had just ended and it seemed as if everyone headed to La Juas afterward. The line was clear outside the back door and into the parking lot but things moved quickly. I grabbed a booth while my boyfriend stood in... More

World famous burritos & many other mexican items. Great tacos with choice of many different meats. Add a slice of avocado for a real treat. Not a fancy resturant but clean & quick.
