It has on old-time diner feel. Friendly and attentive staff. It was $7.95 for fried fish and fries, soup and salad bar. The clam chowder was good, the salad fresh and the watermelon was ripe and delicious!

Read the good reviews so headed out to Johnnie Mars. Wasn't impressed when I drove up but was too tired to find another place. Was hoping for at least a beer but they don't serve alcohol. Big portions of roast beef and mashed potatoes but neither that great. IMHO, it was truck stop food, nothing more...nothing less.

Good food not great. Salad bar could use an update. Will be back to eat here again though. The place can get crowded but have never had to wait for a table.

Johnnie Mars Family Restaurant is the epitome of what used to be the standard of restaurants in days gone by. Not only was the food delicious, but also the waitress was cheerful and and did a wonderful job of taking our orders and checking on us occasionally in the most professional manner. I will definitely be eating at this establishment... More

This place is the best non chain restaurant you can try. We have been coming to this restaurant since it opened, and even when John had his first restaurant downtown. Great home cooking, and even a yummy Greek menu. Waitresses are the best in town. And the owner loves to greet you and have a friendly conversation. Unfortunately the only... More

Excellent restaurant for the adventurous spirit who wants the local fair in lieu of your standard chain restaurants. If you're just passing through, this place is worth finding. Good home cooked food.

After reading reviews we thought we'd give this place a try. Definately a diner, dive type of place. Good food good service. I had the CFS with mashed potatoes. My husband had the gyro and FF. nice small salad bar and homemade soup. Would definitely like to come back and try some other menu items.

The down home food served here is truely comfort food. If you get a basic burger and fries or a Greek salad you won't go wrong. The staff treats everyone like you walked into their home and you feel like family. The homemade rolls and frosting are amazing and the pies are heavenly!! Love to visit this place on Saturdays... We were heading home from North Dakota and read on Tripadvisor about this restaurant so stopped. It closes at 9 pm on Saturday, but we made it a little after 8 pm. My daughter and I each ordered the Greek Salad with gyro meat and it came in this huge bowl with a delicious homemade Greek dressing. My husband had... More

We've stopped here a couple of times for dinner, and had perfectly acceptable meals. I did really like the Greek fries, with loads of feta cheese and greek seasoning. And the prices are reasonable. Only drawback was the noisy servers, practically yelling at their customers, as though everyone had a hearing problem! It was really distracting.
