An pleasing experience.

The Sun Inn is a pleasing reassurance that all is not bad in the British dining experience. I have passed this premises regularly over the last couple of years and made it a special treat being taken for my birthday. My husband and I have visited twice know and not been disappointed. The menu has something for everyone, some basic dishes but more unusual food that would not be out of place in a top class restaurant. Slightly more expensive than normal pub food but well worth the extra!

We were lucky to get in early on Saturday night, as the place was packed. Always a good sign. Nice big tables, really friendly staff and an interesting menu. We just had a main course each, but starters and desserts sounded great. I had Yorkshire fish tapas, which was tasty, other half had rabbit pie, which looked, and he said... More

We came upon Colton whilst driving in the area and decided to stop for lunch as the car park was well occupied - usually a good sign of a good eaterie. Spoilt for choice!! The menu had a good selection of starters, mains or light bites. The wines by the glass were also a good selection. The service was friendly... More

This place never lets you down. Always consistently good food and service. We visited here on 30 December 2014. The monkfish starter is fab as is the rib eye steak. Our friends had the venison steak and pie, which look amazing. I can't wait to come back here. I only wish that this place was my local.....

There are not too many good pubs around that serve 'proper food' but the Sun seems to be one of them. Having dined here previously with a large group for a light lunch (& liking the fare, ambience and atmosphere) I decided to return with my wife. We were not disappointed. A good selection of beers, wines (but only two... More

Booked here for our regular Christmas Eve lunch with friends on a recommendation from a fellow Trip Advisor reviewer - we were not disappointed! We arrived just before the pub opened (taxi made very good time from our home) and we had a few minutes to admire the extensive sunny terrace in front of the pub (mental note for summer... More

Rang to make a reservation for Sunday lunch and was instantly charmed by the warm and informed reception. We had booked a late lunch (3pm) which usually means lots of the menu choices have been snapped up. However, everything was still on offer on the very varied and substantial lunch menu. The service was lovely, the food excellent and, as... More

We booked in for dinner at short notice, and what a lovely evening we had. Food & service were great, and all at reasonable prices too! Can highly recommend this place if you're in the area, we will certainly return.
