If you are in Pella you MUST stop at Jaarsma Bakery. It has the best pastries I have ever tasted. Dutch Letters, Puff Pillows, Creme Horns, Bankets, Tarts just to name a few. Cupcakes are great too. We always stock up on the raisin buns bring home and freeze. They never last long in our house. We are out again... More

Remember that Christmas-morning feeling of being overwhelmed by all the presents and the lights and tree and not knowing where to begin? That's the same feeling you'll get walking into this Dutch bakery for the first time. It's compounded by St. Nicholas cookies, even in summer. We tried several items and they were all delicious. Merry Christmas, even in June.

There is nothing I can say that hasn't already been said -- an excellent rating says it all. It may look crowded, but they are well staffed with friendly helpful assistants. They move the crowd quickly. Don't overlook the wonderful bread -- it helps when you are getting over the sugar shock of the wonderful pastries!! Highly recommend the raspberry... More

This is an old fashion bakery! So many choices you may be there a while before making a choice. Right across from the park so we went and sat in the park and ate our goodies!

After reading several tripadvisor reviews, we decided this was the place to experience authentic Dutch parties and sweets. We were not disappointed! We got several Dutch letters, almond cake and other sweet treats. The total cost was very reasonable especially for the very fresh, tasty and authentic goodies. There was a line, but definitely worth the wait!

It reminds me of the quaint local bakeries all neighborhoods had at one time. Lots of neat things to buy and try!

This always has been a stop when visiting this lovely little town. This time of the year is awesome with the tulips in bloom. All kinds of baked goods.

We stopped by during the tulip time festival so we expected the long lines. I love chocolate and pastries, and Jaarsma did not disappoint! We got a chocolate bar, Dutch letters, and cookies. Everything was absolutely delicious and we will definitely come back next time we are in Pella.

We were there on a Saturday afternoon and the line was long. We left and came back 2 or 3 different times. The last time we stopped in the line was much shorter. The staff were very helpful. The items we purchased were delightful and inexpensive. We'll be back.
