Loved the atmosphere, AND the food and service were out of this world~ Happy hour can't be beat after a long day at work, or on the road. A great place off the beaten path that we will definitely return to again soon!

With frigid arctic temperatures and wind chills we couldn't have picked a worse Saturday night in Janaury to go out for dinner, but Red's Alehouse made it worthwhile. We ended up being seated at one of the many tables in the bar area and it was great--a lot of lively conversation, energy from the music piped in and the fact... More

I went here late in the afternoon with my daughters-in-law. They have a great happy hour, buy one get one. The waitress was extremely attentive even bringing my daughter-in-law samples of ale for her to decide and try something she was not familiar with. We had drinks (pear martini for me, craft beers for the daughters-in-law) that were really good... More

Red's is a great place to grab a quick bite, a couple of beers or a nice full course meal. The servers are knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Televisions are plenty to catch a game and the outdoor seating is highly sought after on a nice afternoon/evening. For beer lovers, the tap selection is outstanding and the Happy Hour a great... My brother and I stopped after a morning of having his van worked on. We were immediately seated inside, where we wanted to be. The server was quick and attentive. My brother, who knows beer, spent some time selecting from the extensive array of beers and ales, and was very satisfied with his choice. We ordered lunch items from the... More

Good: Great beer selection, nice outdoor seating area, good service for being a very busy restaurant. Prices very reasonable. Bad: Food quality is at best average. Menu is uninspiring, relying on flatbread pizzas as their bread and butter items. Cheap, easy to prepare, and satisfying to most people. But the other menu items are drenched in grease or olive oil... More

This was my second visit in a year's time and now I understand why people rave about this place. We arrived on a Saturday at opening on our way to a Hawkeye football game, so we were one of the first tables there. Our server, Regina, was very friendly, helpful and informative. I ordered the daily lunch deal with half... More

Our family ate outside. Atmosphere was great and so was the food and waiter. We had to wait to sit outside but well worth it. Bartender helped with beer selection and my Bloody Mary was the first I had in years and it was delicious!

We wanted to take my daughter and some of her friends out to celebrate her recent graduation from U of I. After trying to make reservations at several places in Iowa City weeks in advance and not having success, my daughter called Red's and had no problem securing a mid-afternoon reservation on the day of her graduation. There were 9... More

Love the atmosphere and food. Great selection of beers ranging from 4% alcohol to 11%. I guess they have Sunday brunch, as well.
