The Green Dragon dates from the 15th century. It was originally premises for a wheelwright and a coffin maker, then became a beer house some 200 years ago. Set in a delightful rural setting, the pub overlooks a stream which is spanned by a humped-backed bridge. During the summer months ponies and donkeys can be seen shading on the forecourt of the Inn. The Pub displays a number of 'bends' of leather, which bear imprints of hot iron brands. These brands represent owners of animals who have commoners rights to allow their livestock to graze on New Forest Land. To the rear of the pub is a small patio area that leads to our garden, which is a wonderful place to sit and relax in the summer. Why not come in and enjoy a pint of one of our four cask ales? These ales change all the time so keep an eye out for your favourites. We are a dog friendly pub although we do ask that you keep them on leads at all times. We do not allow dogs in the restaurant, this keeps one part of the pub a dog free area.

Impressed

Very attractive building perched in the heart of the New Forest. Even though the place was very busy we were served immediately. The beer was excellent and the food was great. We chose to eat in the garden which was nicely set out.

Have to agree with Bikermum79. Lovely pub in an ideal spot, but what a strange attitude they have. The menu is standard old pub fare - i.e. gammon and chips, pie and veg, ham and eggs etc., We arrived at 8.30, the pub was very busy, but managed to get a table, but were told that starters were no longer... We visited this pub restaurant on one of the hottest weekends of the summer so it was inevitably very busy. Nonetheless, the staff were very helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to find us a nice table. The food was really good and, in view of the number of customers, was served with the minimum of delay.... More

Lovely pub in the middle of the New Forest. We've been driving past it for the last 10 years and finally popped in on our way home from a family day out. Good pub food with just a little bit of difference which is just what we like. Husband reported that the liver was just a little over cooked but... More

Been quite a few times but not for a while so I was a bit nervous after some of the reviews, but food was of the same excellent standard and staff friendly. For a Tuesday night it was exceptionally busy with only a couple of small tables empty. Highly recommend

We were on our way to Lymington for weekend break to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The traffic was terrible through Lyndhurst so we opted to visit the Green Dragon in Brook for lunch. We arrived at 2.05pm. They simply refused to make us a sandwich - "kitchen closes at 2.00" was the repeated, and rather blunt, response from behind the... More

Came across this pub just before joining M27 on a long hot journey home. Nice pub with good garden but food a bit over priced. But a nice place worth visiting

Charming country pub with helpful friendly staff. Good parking. Comprehensive lunch menu with lots of " specials" at reasonable price. We enjoyed butternut squash risotto; dressed crab salad & lamb balti. Would go back.

I give a good honest factual review so here goes. On arrival it's a really old traditional pub with well kept pleasant gardens. The inside although dated has charm and ambience. Busy for a Wednesday night. Certain things such as an ancient desert cabinet complete with flies could be got rid of. You have to order food at the bar,... More

Dropped in with no booking for Sunday lunch. Excellent roast topside, really nice staff, and they keep an excellent pint. Couldn't imagine a nicer way of spending a sunny Sunday lunchtime, fisrt class all round
