The Green Dragon dates from the 15th century. It was originally premises for a wheelwright and a coffin maker, then became a beer house some 200 years ago. Set in a delightful rural setting, the pub overlooks a stream which is spanned by a humped-backed bridge. During the summer months ponies and donkeys can be seen shading on the forecourt of the Inn. The Pub displays a number of 'bends' of leather, which bear imprints of hot iron brands. These brands represent owners of animals who have commoners rights to allow their livestock to graze on New Forest Land. To the rear of the pub is a small patio area that leads to our garden, which is a wonderful place to sit and relax in the summer. Why not come in and enjoy a pint of one of our four cask ales? These ales change all the time so keep an eye out for your favourites. We are a dog friendly pub although we do ask that you keep them on leads at all times. We do not allow dogs in the restaurant, this keeps one part of the pub a dog free area.

Other than the long wait was stunning food I had the lamb shoulder rump the amount of meat was unreal and the meat just fell of the bone simply brilliant!! No a single complaint from any of us and there were 11 of us!! Been here many times... More

Missed my turning off the m27 and ended up here by accident on a Sunday lunch time. The staff were very friendly and found us a table despite being fully booked. We had the fish mix grill and lasagne. Very nice. Next time we visit it won't be by accident.

Visited on May bank holiday to celebrate a family birthday with a party of 11, including 3 younger children. We received a warm welcome despite being nearly an hour late due to being delayed by traffic. The menu offered a generous selection of dishes which suited everyone and was served by a friendly and efficient team. We were all impressed... More

Came here on a Saturday lunchtime for a family celebration. As we had a party of 10 we were given a private room off the main bar. The room was quaint and cosy, no menus on the tables though, and no one came to bring any over. Bit odd, seeing as they were expecting us. Food arrived and was very... More

Called in one evening and we ordered 2 meals which were both excellent at reasonable prices. Together with a good selection of drinks available the service was very friendly and quick - well worth a visit

First class food and drink. Reasonably priced . The pub itself together with the service added to a very memorable night in a traditional country pub we will return.

We go to this lovely olde world New Forest pub for lunch or dinner several times a year as our friend from London has to have his regular 'fix'. The pies are delicious, the selection of vegetables have always been varied and served perfectly cooked - not soggy or too crunchy. The garden is well tended with facilities for children... More
