The Green Dragon dates from the 15th century. It was originally premises for a wheelwright and a coffin maker, then became a beer house some 200 years ago.

Set in a delightful rural setting, the pub overlooks a stream which is spanned by a humped-backed bridge. During the summer months ponies and donkeys can be seen shading on the forecourt of the Inn.

The Pub displays a number of 'bends' of leather, which bear imprints of hot iron brands. These brands represent owners of animals who have commoners rights to allow their livestock to graze on New Forest Land.

To the rear of the pub is a small patio area that leads to our garden, which is a wonderful place to sit and relax in the summer.

Why not come in and enjoy a pint of one of our four cask ales? These ales change all the time so keep an eye out for your favourites.

We are a dog friendly pub although we do ask that you keep them on leads at all times. We do not allow dogs in the restaurant, this keeps one part of the pub a dog free area.

Good food

Visited early in a Wednesday evening so the restaurant side was quiet. The food was very good, and priced accordingly. The service was OK but not as quick as it might have been. It's been a while since I've been somewhere where you have to order food from the bar so that probably didn't help. Would... read more

Four of us visited The Green Dragon at Brook for a birthday treat. We opted for the January offer menu. This was good but a limited choice as one might expect. We tended to be left a while with other diners being served and had to go and ask for assistance. The food was very good and we had an... More

We went for Sunday lunch. It is wise to book as can get very busy. I took two elderly ladies in their 90s so they were pleased to find that it is possible to have smaller portions of some of the main courses. Staff were friendly and eager to please and the food was good.

Visited for lunch with group of friends. Never again. Average food, impossibly slow service. Every time we needed service at our table we had to go to the bar, wait in line and ask for attention. We sat down for lunch at 1pm and gave up at 3.45pm. Had to get very cross in the end to find out why... More

John L, Firstly let me apologise for the service you received that day, It seems the poor service was inexcusable. However we are a pub and as such we do not offer table service. All food orders must be placed at the counter, and likewise, drinks at the bar. On Sundays we often are extremely busy and therefore a delay... More

Title says it all really. The food looked quite nice, but the actual lunch menu didn't really set the pulse racing. Typical pub fayre. Sad really, because the setting and ambience was quite good, Eventually did not eat.

David C, During the week we offer two menus. The card, which like you state, contains typical pub dishes. For example; Scampi, Ham egg and chips and Sirloin steak. However we do also serve our specials board. The specials offers a range of 8-15 dishes that have been prepared by our chef that morning. These dishes can range from Butternut... More

Set in an attractive landscape, The Green Dragon is an unspolit English country pub with plenty of warmth and character. As soon as you step through the door, you know you've made the right choice. Our first visit was back in August 2015, but as we had packed a picnic, we only had a couple of drinks which we enjoyed... More

Nice Sunday lunch, pub was busy but not crowded, would recommend booking as there were a few people turned away who had not booked.

Stayed overnight nearby...what a find! Called in for a drink and to see the evening menu. Great welcome and fantastic varied menu. No trouble to book for an evening meal and the table was duly reserved. Good beer and cider selection and the service was friendly and fast. Food was hot and tasty. Last lamb dish available for my husband... More
