Lunched with family on 17th- met half way here, us from Surrey & them from Somerset. Nice relaxed meal in a very busy Sunday lunch period, however, staff seemed to overlook us once or twice. Maybe because we were newbies or not local ? Roast beef was nice as was the lamb and chicken. Puds ok too, but there were... More

Staying up the road 100 metres away in the Bell Inn, we booked a table for dinner Saturday 16th August for 3 people. Bar staff excellent quickly served and on asking advised that our table was number 10 in the restaurant and to go through when we wanted, so far so good. On finding the table in the restaurant we... We went to this pub for lunch as it very close to our hotel. It looks great from the outside and was busy. I wasn't impressed by the laminated menus. We ordered 2 ploughmans lunches. £9.50 each. They were ok, but had more cheese than its possible to eat. Could have done with less cheese and more bread/salad. A cider... More

We had lunch in the Green Dragon at Brook in the New Forest on Sunday 10 August. We arrived when the pub was just opening at Midday and managed to get the last available table in the bar because we had not booked. The restaurant area was fully booked with a number of regulars which is generally a sign of... More

We stopped here for refreshments and were amazed at how large the place is. From the outside we had not idea. It just looks like a tiny thatched pub. We were very pleased with our visit and will be back.

Excellent dog friendly pub serving good quality home cooked foods. Steak and kidney pie with home made pastry is really good. Good choice of ales. Recommended

Had excellent lunch here. Be aware lunch is only available until 2pm and actually closes at 2.30pm. We arrived at 1.45 pm and ordered immediately. After we had eaten lunch asked if we could have a dessert but was told "only if you decide quickly and then depending on what, yes"! Did feel rather rushed!

I chose the Green Dragon as it is halfway between Bournemouth and Southampton and I know people who have enjoyed a drink there. The beer garden was great on a hot, sunny day. The service was great although the post about locals clogging the bar were true. ( Sat Lunchtime). The service was very efficient and when I was being... More

After a very long hold up on the A3 trying to get out of London for a weekend in Dorset we left the motorway, headed for the New Forest and the first decent looking pub we could find. The Green Dragon looked very welcoming so we "dived in". We became aware that food stopped being served at 2pm and it... More

We visited for lunch with open minds after reading the mixed reviews on here. Unfortunately we have to agree with the negative reviews - we really did not like it. There were lots of negatives and only two positives during our visit. Firstly a positive then - it's a beautiful pub. Looks pretty from the outside and hinted that the... More
