The food and service are excellent, price of ribs dinner is high but the ribs are probably the best in the area. All of the food is good but the sausage is sort of like a hot dog.

Very good, not the best, but very good BBQ. The smoke line is always a welcome sight/taste. Far above average baked beans. A good amount of food for the price. Interesting and clean interior. Some under utilized outdoor seating that could use a few largish plants/shrubs to block the view of the street and mall. And add that touch of... More

Jimmy Jack’s has some of the best Barbeque in the Iowa City area. We have been there several times and the quality is always the same (Very Good). My favorite is the pulled pork sandwich, the meat is nice and tender with a good Smokey flavor. If you like additional sauce they have a nice select to add to you... More

Serves BBQ somewhere between Kansas City, St Louis and Memphis style with several choices of sauce. Favorite is brisket sandwich with Carolina sauce. Casual dining or carry out. Reasonably priced. Yum!

I have lived all over the US, before retiring home in Dubuque,Ia. I have a PASSION for bbq and have eaten at many of the top BBQ Restaurants in the country. Unfortunately the area is NOT a haven for bbq. An exception to that is JIMMY JACK's. The ribs are bone-tender and succulent of themselves- and are available with a... More

Came during a business lunch and had to make a second pass for dinner. Ribs are tasty w/o sauce- great testament to high quality. Love the cowboy sauce.

I love this place. I always split a half rack meal with my husband and with the AMAZING homemade fries and cornbread we don't leave hungry. The bbq sauces are all good but the original is my favorite. My mom who is not a bbq fan will even eat here. Mmm. Now I want ribs.

Jimmy Jack's has excellent bbq meats, but their fries and ESPECIALLY the cornbread are amazingly good. A slice is large and has a wonderful honey taste. They must bake a lot into the bread. Add butter and you're in heaven.

We like everything here - pulled pork is a favorite, and the portobello sandwich is a good choice for veggie lovers. We have only gotten food to go, but they do have seating; I think they are picnic type tables. Try the new maple BBQ sauce, and fries, beans, and slaw are all tasty sides.

We eat at Jimmy Jacks regularly and have used them for catering. The food is consistently good. We like the ribs, pulled pork, turkey, baked beans, fries, coleslaw, cornbread, and sauces. We are not BBQ experts but for us this compares to top-rated BBQ restaurants we have been to in Kansas City.
