We visit Oyama regularly. They have a large variety of different sushi rolls and the prices are very reasonable. The Hawaii Roll is very tasty and a good deal. I took a sushi first-timer, and business collegue, here because of another reviewer's comments. Sure enough, Darren was so friendly and helpful -he made the experience a great one. Fantastic quality fish - rivals some of the best sashimi in Chicago! I will certainly be back whenever my travels take me to Iowa City. What a nice surprise. 9/10! more

The sushi here is the best. The atmosphere isn't as nice as the other restaurants in town, as it is located in a strip mall. The lunches are excellent, and are an amazing value. I would say hands down this is the best sushi in town. more

Oyama Sushi shares it's parking lot with the Sycamore Mall. It's fabulously fresh sushi and variety rolls are innovative with much attention to detail. The owners/sushi chefs (especially Darren) are amongst the friendliest, most customer-service oriented in town with all of the quality and none of the pretension of the pricier Asian eateries.
