Quick and yummy

Three out of four of us had breakfast, which is served all day. Everything was very good. Service was quick. It was very busy. I would definitely go back sometime.

Delicious breakfast - classic IC atmosphere. Always a great experience once you make it past the long line. :-) My husband and o met at Iowa and make it a tradition to stop at Hamburg.

My buddy and I were here on the morning of April 24th. We sat ourselves after waiting for any of the hipster staff to acknowledge whether we needed to wait to be seated or do so ourselves. Hipster server girl #1 slammed down two menus without saying a word. Hipster server #2 came for a drink order, which was two... More

We waited with many others for the opportunity to eat at this landmark in Iowa City- you can see signed photos of presidential candidates etc all along the walls. And the food was good!

Horrible and dirty place... The food is disgusting. Nothing good to say about this place.. Locals tout the breakfast as great.. Yuck!! I would rather stay home and cook my own food, than pay for badly prepared food with greasy appearance and blah flavor and presented like slop from an Iowa pig farm!

Stopped here before a Friday Doctor appt. based on reviews. They were busy, we were lucky to get a table. Two meatless omelets were both very good, with enough food for another meal. The glutten free toast was unremarkable, but nice to see they had it. Friendly waitress was a bit slow, but we were in a hurry. Had a... More

Revisited this place several years after my first visit. They have a good selection of food for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, but the real highlight is the shakes. While they are known for their pie shakes, I took advantage of Girl Scout season and had a Peanut Butter Pattie Shakes. Yum!

This place has pie shakes, people, what more do you need to know? I mean they put real pie in their milkshakes and then they shake 'em all up. You really MUST have a pie shake.

We love the Hamburg! Great diner style food, good breakfast choices, reasonable prices. It's always busy, and it is small, so if you don't 't want to wait, avoid peak times. You can also get food to go. If you eat gluten free, try the GF pie.
