They say politicians drop by here for photo-ops. I think the food and service were average. Or maybe my experience was unspectacular because of the person i was with.

This is one of my favorite places to go whenever I'm in Iowa City. I love their breakfast food! This place is world famous, and rightfully so.

Yummy lunch! A fun diner atmosphere. Soup and burgers were great on a snowy afternoon! They offered homemade pies too.

Hamburg Inn is a local favorite in Iowa City known for breakfast and down home cooking. A fun place to eat for families, college students and politicians!

Lunch specials every day will remind you of your grandmother's cooking. I have the Iowa omelet every time I go - day or night - a killer for the cholesterol but worth every calorie! Casual attire required although four US presidents have eaten at this local landmark!

The reviews of this restaurant are very good, so I'm not sure what happened the day I visited. I ordered a burger on a gluten free bun with a side of mixed vegetables and cottage fries. After the order was placed, the server came back to tell me that they were out of GF buns, but would put it on... More

I've been here many many times. They had a fire and closed down for a while but reopened a couple of months ago. Nothing had changed (which Is a good thing). Best breakfast menu and available all day unlike the majority of hometown places in iowa city. I've always had good service here. You might have to wait a while... More

Even though I live in the Iowa City area, I had not been to the Hamburg Inn in over 20 years. I came here for a business breakfast and ordered the Reuben omelette. I never order omelettes, but I will order just about anything that's a Reuben, so I had to try it. It was really delicious. The egg part... More

So I go to Hamburg Inn #2 to have breakfast in a chair sat in by a future President... Standard diner menu in an original environment. This place is busy all the time so be prepared to wait a moment for a table. Once seated, anything ordered is cooked correctly and served up hot. Bisquits and gravy always hit the... More

Place has great food and service. On weekend for breakfast expect to wait. Church crowd and the students makes a good size line here.
