The menu includes a lot of items you would not fix yourself that are well prepared. The service was very good.

I used to love to go to One Twenty Six years ago for half priced wine night on Mondays. The Mr. and I went on a whim on a weeknight this summer. It was incredibly slow, and our food was rushed out the window. I like efficiency, but I don't like feeling like there's no sense of coursing. All of... More

I was there couple of times 3-4 years back, and was not impressed with their food. However, my recent visit changed my views. They now have not only good selection of entrees, the food (my selection - rack of lamb) was very good, and the service was really impressive. I highly recommend their appetizer mussels too. Definitely, a place to... More

Four of us ate here and two enjoyed the lamb chops plus lamb Wellington, one the pork Vindaloo and one the salmon each served with its own side. The bread was fresh, warm and as rich as brioche dough. The service was attentive. All in all, a great experience.

When I was an undergrad at the University of Iowa (back when dinosaurs roamed the earth), one of my guilty pleasures before Italian class was to head over to the Great Midwestern Ice Cream Company on Washington Street, grab a pastry and some Red Zinger tea, and sit in the window and study. It was nice place, in an old... More

LOVE this place. We came here for a surprise party and it was our first time, and will definitely not be our last. They had rented out the back room upstairs and we had a set menu for the night. My husband and I both had the Beef Tenderloin and it was SO DELICIOUS.One of the best meals ever! It's... More

We really enjoyed some special occasions brunches over the years, especially Mother's day. Service can sometimes be slow, but the food is very nice. It's a nice place to treat your mom to a nice brunch.

We liked the look of 126 from outside, so stepped in just before the lunch rush. My food choice was easy when I saw they had a muffaletta sandwich, and theirs was just the right size for lunch sustenance without overeating. A main-dish salad was good too, a nice mix of greens and fresh toppings. We'd gladly eat there again... More

The service has really dropped off since my last time here. When I arrived, I asked to be seated at a booth. I was informed that I couldn't sit at it because they needed the seating for the lunch time crunch. I understand this. However, the lunch time crunch never materialized. At least I got to admire the empty booth... More

I would agree with ic_anglophile and reiterate some things. The menu is an attempt to be pretentious, the wines are extremely overpriced. The "ambience" . . . whatever!! There are so many better places in Iowa City for great dining. The overall experience was lame. I would never go here again. Save your money and eat at other places nearby... More
