Dropped in for lunch. Informal yet skilled intuitive skilled service. Food arrived promptly and hot. There was no food auction: waiter actually smart enough to remember who had what. Amazing menu with dozens of variations on a theme and a savory list of daily specials. Three of us loved every bite.

The concept is what I want in a restaurant. Urban, lively, independent, casual, but with a somewhat upscale feel. It fell short of my expectations. This is a sister restaurant of the Short's locations in Iowa City, and I think Short's burgers are excellent. There is a similarly large list of burger options here, in addition to many chicken sandwiches,... More

Stella is hit or miss. When it's great- it's awesome. When it's bad, it's an expensive mistake. The service can be spotty at best- even when it's awesome. The fries can be hand cut perfection, or a soggy mess. The tenderloin the best in the state, or a dry breaded pork chop. There's no value in the liquor menu. $18... More

This is the perfect place to go after a chilly afternoon watching the big game. The burger menu is extensive and the ones we all tried were fantastic---thick and hand made and deliciously accessorized. The atmosphere is very casual, loud, energetic---good place for a group, not a romantic tete-a-tete.

We were lucky enough to happen upon this place before the football game at the stadium which is right next door. We were happy to pay the $5 cover charge they charge on game day especially because a table on the cute patio opened up right as we walked up. They had excellent bloody mary's and a terrific, fun football... More

Its not your typical menu. They have some nice entrees but i enjoyed their black bean burger list. Since I am a vegetarian, i liked that they had several vege options. The food is tasty. And our service was great! We went with a group of 10 and they did not even add a mandatory gratuity. It shows they are... More

Although there were a few specials, entrees not between bread, sandwiches predominate and they are many but virtually all ooze cheese even if black bean or chicken instead of hamburger. Why not offer a few healthy alternatives?

I stopped here with family members when we were in town for a wedding. My boyfriend had been at "stouts" downtown and seen the burgers there and they are the same burgers at Stella. I was not very impressed with our service or the food. Our waitress seemed annoyed to serve our large group of 11. She did not ask... More

We stopped in for lunch and had gumbo and red beans and rice. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and I like that they offer beers from local breweries.

Great selection of different burgers and sandwiches. Had a good bloody mary there as well. Dressed up bar atmosphere. Good service.
