This restaurant was a real treat but unfortunately has been closed for some time now. I had a surprise birthday dinner there which was terrific and I will miss Chef's Table :(

This is my favorite anniversary restaurant. This is the most authentic French food I've had in Iowa City and I have eaten extensively in France.
Good bistro food and wine tastings. If you would like a taste of French Cuisine at a reasonable price this is a great option. Romantic enough for dates, casual enough for everything else. Every dish I have had has been tasty. Not perfect but an overall positive experience.
Dreadful service. The last lunch I ate there took nearly 20 minutes to take our drink order, then there was another 30 minute wait for our appetizer, and finally our lunch entree was taken to go because we had been there for an hour and a half and had to move on to other engagements. We were celebrating our son's graduation. The restaurant followed the requests we made on our OpenTable reservation. We were seated in the exclusive wine room which is pristine. The waiter Brian was superb as was the food.

I spent a fortune taking my friend here. They served foie gras and when I questioned the foie gras (violent goose meat) the chef came out and scolded me. My meal was TINY and mediocre, but paid $40 for it anyway.
Parking was difficult, and was surprised there was no valet offering. It is a very nice, tastefully decorated, comfortable dining room. We were surprised the noise level was well within reason, despite all the hard surfaces.
In ordering, we were disappointed that if we choose the disgustation menu, which was enticing, we both had to have this prix fix plan,...
