Wish there were a lot more locations!

This place is absolutely wonderful and we love what it represents. The options are numerous for organic and unprocessed foods. The prices may be slightly higher but it is well worth the up-charge knowing what you are getting. We just wish it weren't over an hour away from us. The addition of the... read more

Employees are very nice and helpful. I have had problems with bread freshness and cleaness. But, I do love the bread. In grocery, they need to work on a better selection and price compared to new places. If you have a suggestion or problem there is not a person to take care of it.

PI was recommended to us by a friend in MN. We actually drove out of our way to stop there on our way home from CO and we were so glad we did! We were looking for organic, fresh and healthy and PI did not disappoint. I had the Papagayo, a vegetarian sandwich on PI sourdough bread. The sandwich was... More

Went to New Pi on a Sunday Morning. Two of us and one got a gluten free breakfast sandwich and one got a Croissant breakfast sandwich. Made to order--you fill out a paper marking what items you want on your sandwich. Then they make it right there while you wait. Have 2 nice areas with booths and tables where you... More

Love the Co-op and it is worth becoming a member! Great for organic and they do a wonderful job promoting local producers. Great cheese and bread and the desserts are very good. So many great things to pick from, but you should try the stuffed meatloaf and Dr. Wahl's Kale Salad. We love the smoothies and the big scones (split... More

This co-op has it all, including the knowledgeable staff that is there to assist with any sort of question. The food is definitely pricey, but you are presumably paying for better quality, better ingredients and more fair market practices (as with most of these places, whether you are or not is a toss up, usually). If I lived in Iowa... More

New Pi has been an Iowa City institution for decades and with good reason. The selection is great and the staff is fun and friendly. Oh how I miss shopping here on a weekly basis.

After 8 years in Iowa City and a recent move across the US, the New Pi is the thing I miss the most from IC. My kids grew up shopping there. They have truly set a new standard for me in regards to organic grocery stores. Yes, they are a bit more expensive than HyVee, Walmart and others but the... More

I love the Co-Op! My positive memories of Iowa City will always include this great store, with great staff and a great selection. From the fresh baked pastries, to the organic and exotic produce, it's my favorite food shop in Iowa City. My only complaint is that they stopped making Sushi with cooked meat. The cooked Tuna and Salmon was... More
