We attended my hubby's Christmas party at the Peppertree. We hadn't been there in a while and I was hesitant after reading some of their reviews but we had a great time and the food was delicious! The drinks and appetizers were also good.

We have visited several of the restaurants in the Grinnell area, but this was our first visit to The Peppertree Grill. The appetizers were good - a nice potato sausage soup and a fresh Greek salad. The filet was well prepared, and the sauce was excellent. We found the Parmesan crusted chicken to be more than acceptable. The blueberry lemon... More

Worst food i've had. Asi tuna was a pre-frozen stringy brick...raw in the middle and chewy on the outside. My wife tried to eat the Parm Crusted chicken but it tasted like it had a cup of sweetner on it. Cheese sauce was both salty and overly sweetened. $40 I'll never see again.

We went here on the County Inn and Suites suggestion. Nice place - we arrived late and they were out of some items on the menu but, still had a nice dinner. Place is decorated cute. Our waitress was fine - food was good.

We meet our parents here frequently, as it is 1/2 way between our homes. We have never had a bad meal, in fact, the food is excellent and reasonably priced. We have always had great service in the restaurant. For some reason, the bar service is slow. Twice I was brought a cabernet when I ordered a chardonnay. I think... More

We have eaten here on at least 2 visits to Grinnell and it is our favorite. The food is good, the menu large and the prices reasonable. And you might catch a train rolling by just behind the restaurant. Also a nice wine list.

We have eaten here twice and had great food both times. The sandwiches are served hot with choice of sides and the entrees are varied and well-prepared. The prices are average for what you expect in a "cloth napkin" restaurant in central Iowa. We found the service to be fast and friendly. The real star is the old railroad depot... More

We (my girlfriend, her son and I) have eaten at this restaurant before. The service was horrible then, approximately two hours for three steaks and a couple salads.  Looking around the restaurant was not packed by any means, we thought perhaps a cook or other staff may have called in leaving the staff short handed.  Once our food did arrive,... First, the photos on Trip Advisor are not of this particular The Peppertree restaurant. Lookup The Peppertree at Depot Crossing for an accurate photo of this lovely restaurant. I would have posted it, but I don't own the rights to the photo on line. All five of us really enjoyed our meals. Four had pasta and one had chicken. My... More

We usually go before 6 to have the "early bird" as is it is the right a amount of food. Also, you can get a take out dinner for 4 ( have to agree to the meat, etc.) but it is an excellent value and sometimes, even, leftovers.
