Best Burgers!

Always feel like we can balance the crowd here with healthy salad bar and those in the crowd that want their red meat. Steak soup is great!

This is a fairly expensive "cook it yourself" steakhouse. Large, open and loud. Our server was quite friendly, but the speed of service was excrutiating. After our drink order was taken we sat looking at each other, hungry and thirsty, for quite some time. One feature that would have been excellent had the service been faster was that there is... Fun to "grill your own." Wine list is subpar for pairing with a good steak and beer choices were underwhelming. Fun to cook your own beef, however some of the other patrons seemed to think the place was a "hoot and holler" place for "dudes." Perhaps it is? Oh well, we enjoyed ourselves and will return.

This is a fun concept with great food! First of all, I really love picking out and grilling my own steak (They will do it for $3 extra) Secondly, the garlic bread that you make while grilling is so amazing! They provide great self serve seasonings and melted butter for your steak and garlic bread. I've had the salad bar... More

On a recent trip across the Midwest, my wife and I happened in on this pleasant surprise. From the outside the restaurant appears to be a somewhat fancy steakhouse, but inside it's a Midwest café. We both ordered the hamburger and were in for a real treat as the burger may have been among the best ever. The place was... More

One of the best local restaurants we've hit up on our road trip. Staff was friendly and the food was fantastic. The chicken sandwich was quite good as well. Highly recommend if you're passing through!

It is nothing fancy, but the star of the show is the meat. I love that I get to cook the steak myself.

Best burgers in town!stop and have one for lunch and then stop and grill a steak for supper! We are local and eat there often. Good salad bar and drink selection.

Stayed near the restaurant so thought I would give it a try. Food was good but pricey for the cut of meat and they charge even more if they cook it. Salad bar was very good but baked potatoes were poor. My friend had a Sandwich and was very unimpressed . Not bad but I would not repeat.

On cross country trips, we have made efforts to end up in Grinnell at dinner time. Never before had the opportunity to cook my own steak over the large charcoal grill in the center of a restaurant. It was excellent. Must be my culinary skills (!). Salad bar fine, choice of potatoes and soup also offered. No background music, no... More
