Good Meal at the last minute

We have passed this place several times and both said we should try it one day. Well today was the day. We rang quite late to book not expecting to get a table as it was valentines day but we were lucky. When we arrived it was busy but the staff were pleasant and polite despite being under... read more

I went to Spice of India initially with the intention of getting a takeaway, but upon arrival decided to eat in instead. I'd visited a few times previously with my partner and we'd been pretty happy on those occasions. Unfortunately my most recent experience left me far from satisfied. The food itself (onion bhaji starter, chicken pasanda w/ pilau rice... More

I went to the restaurant a few weeks ago and had a lovely meal. The service was good and the food was lovely. However ordered a takeaway last night and, whilst the food was very tasty, the portions were incredibly disappointing. Definitely not worth the money and it was such a shame. May visit the restaurant again but definitely wouldn't... More

We've wanted to try this Indian for a while but we're always passing outside opening hours. Fortunately on Monday we were there just after 6.00pm. It was worth the wait. There were a lot of curries on the menu that were new to us that sounded lovely. To judge a restaurant for the first time we feel that we should... More

One can hardly expect a steaming atmosphere at 10pm on a winter Monday, so we dined alone in the pleasantly and apparently recently decorated large dining room, in what seems to be a converted country pub. Food met expectations, nothing special but probably a reliable local. And there is a good choice of locale ale alongside the inevitable "Indian' beers.... More

We decided very last minute we fancied going for a curry, we have been several times to spice of India and can't fault anything about it, the staff have always been polite, happy to serve you with a smile, which these days can be a rarity, the food has always met our expectations, and i will admit to being a... Visited on a Saturday 4 of us all adults. It was very busy we has table booked for 8 but didn't get food until 9. Not any communication between us and staff as to delays which was a shame. Food was OK and what we had was good value worked out about £20 each with drinks poppadums and extras as... More

Have eaten here many times over many years. Four of us visited yesterday evening and all agreed the food was all outstanding in every respect. Made very welcome, with friendly attentive service. The owner also spent several minutes chatting with us and explained the nature and background of some of the dishes. If you want loud music, large noisy groups... More

I took my two children here on New Years Eve, I had seen it rated well on a Trip Advisor, all I can say is, if this is excellent then you need to get out more. Sorry but Awful is being polite! I booked in advance, got there, waited at the bar after informing the staff of my booking, all... More

Went mid-week was there when opened so quiet. I few things that put me off other places - like waiters hoovering too much - why are you watching me while I eat (I'm too fat to do a runner!) - taking the chutney tray before finished (watching how much I eat of it - which is why I don't go... More
