My wife and I visited The Pepper Sprout on a very busy Friday evening. We arrived early with a reservation. We skipped the excellent appetizers and ordered our entrees with salads. My spouse had barbeque pull pork mac and cheese which she raved about. The entire entree was baked with pepperjack cheese and barbeque sauce and topped with bread crumbs.... More

Tried and true. The menu changes via the season. Midwest cuisine with a twist. Chef Kim trained in Minnesota by her good friend Brett, whom is well known for his personality and kitchen magic.

Chef Kim continues to please the palate with her seasonal menus. Luckily she retains some favorite dishes each year. With the Fall menu the Jumbalya has just enough spice without tipping it over the top; the Venison with Blueberry Port sauce and sweet potato mash have a decidedly Autumnal slant. Her creations are always creative, delicious and pleasantly presented. Her... More

We dine at Sprout approximately once a month. The service and food quality is always consistent and Chef Kim does a wonderful job of keeping the menu fresh by rotating it seasonally and adding new things. The bar area is small but put to good use with hand crafted cocktails.

Wonderful service! Great food-I had the Blue Cheese Cheesecake for an appetizer and it was amazing! The entrée and dessert was great too (I recommend the apple desert they had - wow!)! The décor was pleasing but the food and service were real standouts for me!

From the wine list and seasonal cocktails to the eclectic food, Pepper Sprout celebrates seasonal Midwestern cuisine in a wonderful way. If you are looking for an intimate dining experience than check this place out. They also serve the full dinner menu at the bar if you are traveling alone or didn't make a reservation.

Get your reservation down cause the place gets busy! After you taste the chef's creations you will agree with me you will be back again. The squash soup was unique and outstanding ! Give it a try.

The food was beyond great. Our only problem was that we got pretty full on the great appetizers and soup/salad course, so we weren't able to finish the main course or have dessert. The food was excellent and the pricing was equitable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, and I would definitely go there again. And I would definitely recommend... More

A trendy spot in downtown Dubuque that hasn't found its footing just yet. The changing menu using local ingredients is a plus, as is the setting in a restored vintage location. The current fall menu includes some nods to the riverfront location (jambalaya, roasted squash), however the results are average at best and not worth the premium prices charged. Service... More
