Garlic

The staff warned that the Cesar Salad had roasted garlic in the dressing. They were right. And it was spectacular. Braised ribs on sour cream potatoes just melted in your mouth. As did the chicken. Goodness gracious you gotta go. Not cheap. But worth it.

A must go to when in Dubuque. Chef owned with a menu that changes with the seasons. Always a great meal and never a disappointment. Great servers who know the menu.

This is one of the hidden gems of Dubuque cuisine and well worth a visit. Call ahead to reserve because it is not overly large and can fill up fast depending on what is going on downtown. Watch out for Dubuque Symphony nights. Food is varied in style, adventuresome in taste and presentation, and very high quality. A full service... More

We had a fantastic meal at Pepper Sprout. The farm to table foods on the special menu are especially delicious. We all loved the deviled egg appetizer and the pesto cheesecake was outstanding. Everything we tried was delicious. (And there were nine of us and we all sampled one another's meals)

Food choices are familiar but unique. Every item is flavorful, and beautifully presented. The chef is always in house. I have special food needs and it is never a problem. I visit the Pepper Sprout every time I am in Dubuque! The menu changes seasonally. Beyond the outstanding food, I love the charming atmosphere and friendly, professional staff. Don't leave... More

We stopped in for dinner Saturday night and as always were greeted warmly by the bartender who mixes a great cocktail. We dined off the winter menu, we had the beef pot pie and glazed salmon, both were delicious. Always good, we can't wait for the spring menu! Truly a Dubuque staple.

The Pepper Sprout is an absolutely wonderful place to dine, the food is amazing as well as the staff. The menu changes all the time so it is never boring as far as the food choices. The building is very quaint, old high tin ceilings, there are tables as well as booths that you can dine at and the bar... More

Loved Pepper Sprout "Winter" menu. This restaurant has Midwestern favorites. My husband had the pot pie and I had the steak. While my steak was excellent and cooked to perfection, I was eyeballing his pot pie! This is not your typical pot pie. It comes with a beautiful presentation, light and flaky crust, and my husband ate every bit of... More

If you're looking for some fine dining in the area (which in Dubuque means in the range of about $25-$40 a plate before appetizers or wine pairings) then Pepper Sprout is the way to go. The seasonal menu is always full of fantastic dishes and top quality ingredients. The appetizers I've had here (like the seafood napoleon) are some of... More
