Get your reservation down cause the place gets busy! After you taste the chef's creations you will agree with me you will be back again. The squash soup was unique and outstanding ! Give it a try.

The food was beyond great. Our only problem was that we got pretty full on the great appetizers and soup/salad course, so we weren't able to finish the main course or have dessert. The food was excellent and the pricing was equitable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, and I would definitely go there again. And I would definitely recommend... More

A trendy spot in downtown Dubuque that hasn't found its footing just yet. The changing menu using local ingredients is a plus, as is the setting in a restored vintage location. The current fall menu includes some nods to the riverfront location (jambalaya, roasted squash), however the results are average at best and not worth the premium prices charged. Service... More

They did a change up on the posted menu, the fall menu just went into affect. The BBQ Napoleon appetizer with pepper jack cheese had no pepper or pep to it. The the jambalaya was served with too much spice, Cajun it's not . Too bad because it had all fresh ingredients from okra to the seafood. But everything was... More

We went for dinner, and really enjoyed the food, but thought it was a bit pricey. I would go for a special occasion, but other than that a little bit much for what you get. Loved the interior.

In town for business - had read reviews and thought I'd 'have a go' to quote my old Scottish neighbor. Nicely restored Victorian era store, prototypical 1870 - 1910 era, 20 ft wide and about the same height. Lots of bare brick, ceilings with embossed tin surface, rough hewn wood features. Sat at the bar - no TV, light a... More

We are in Dubuque four to six times a year and always have dinner at the Pepper Sprout. The menu changes seasonally and always offers some unique dinner selections. The owner is the chef and does a fantastic job of blending flavors. Reasonable prices and good servers add to the evening. Highly recommended.

Wow! I can't say enough! The atmosphere was relaxing, great background music, old brick walls, nice low lighting.....and the FOOD!!! Beautifully presented, delicious, and original. Everything very fresh with delightful flavors! The service was outstanding. My husband and I are from the Chicago area and we'll be coming back to Dubuque again just to eat at the Pepper Sprout!!
