Very good Italian Food in historic downtown Dubuque

The restaurant is located in a restored building in the downtown historic area. Take a look around. There are lots of interesting things to see in here. We stopped by without reservations just because we were hungry for some good Italian. It was a little bit before regular dinner hours, so we... read more

Not at all what we were expecting. Volumes of food does not make up for falling behind the times in food quality, preparation and service. The lasagne needed more sauce and tasted strangely grainy. The shrimp and broccoli in my pasta were cooked spot on but the noodles were much cooler giving it a strange dichotomy of heat and cool.... More

Went after college graduation for nephew. We all ordered fine but the food was not correct when delivered. They corrected but one of us had to wait for food. Do not order the Italian sausage dish as there was only one 1.5 inch piece of meat and the rest was peppers. Not worth the money.

With my large family we were able to order many different entrees. The garlic bread is toasted and excellent. I had a seafood and noodles dish that was good, not great. The mini-lobster tail did not taste very good. I ordered some meatballs on the side and they were thick and very good. My wife and daughters had noodles drowning... More

We had great food with an exceptionally good waiter. it was a busy Saturday evening so the service was a bit slow but the waiter made it right. Reasonable but not low prices.

We've been traveling to this restraunt a couple times a year, for the last 7 years and love coming every time. The food is very good especially the lasagna! I eat it every time and in my opinion is some of the best I have ever had. Much better than what I had in Venice, Italy last year. My wife... More

Good but not great. This is a second location for this restaurant, the original across the river in Galena, Illinois. We booked a table in advance and arrived HUNGRY. The house specialty is called "Chef Roberto's Baked Sausage Ragu" combining pasta, sausage, mushroom and cheese and baking it all up hot and bubbly. It was good but, frankly, I could... More

We were on our way back to central Wisconsin on a Sunday night, and wanted to find a place to have a sit down dinner in Dubuque, that wasn't fast food. This was one of the places that came up in our search, so we decided to try it. It turned out to be an excellent choice! I'd highly recommend... More

I came into Vinny Vannucci's this afternoon for a light lunch and the experience was beyond excellent. Brianna, our server, warmly greeted and brought out water right away. The bread and salad was always full, and our soup was abundant in veggies and chicken. Brianna filled our water glasses before we even had a chance to ask for more. We... More
