My husband wanted to visit a chicken palace but I pursuaded him to try Indian instead. We both really enjoyed it! The price was a bit higher than you'd expect for a lunch buffet ($10) but I think it was worth the extra $1. The naan (bread) was chewy and delicious. I loved the yogurt sauce and the selection of... My dining experience was a delight. Hot sauce on demand. Typically, lots of chicken. Helpful wait staff. BUT, I recently heard that the biz is for sale or to be closed. What a shame, Dubuque will miss this restaurant. Thank you and good luck. Please return !!!

I can only comment on the lunch buffet as I do not plan to ever eat there again. As others have noted, the lunch buffet food is insufficiently spiced and bland. There is a "hot sauce" (some sort of chutney, I think) which is not very hot. On our visit, the meat choices were vegetables, chicken, chicken, and chicken, with... More

I love Indian food and have it any chance I can. The years before we had Hot and Spicy, I would take the occasional Indian cooking class here in Dubuque, make it at home or enjoy it when I was out of town. I come to hot and spicy lunch buffet a couple of times a month. Sometimes it's better... More

I have heard bad reviews about this restaurant from my Indian friends. Yet I wanted to try it once. With very low expectation, we went on a Saturday noon for the lunch buffet. I was very happy to see so many dishes and started to wonder why people complained about the food. But when I started to eat, I realized... More

I went to Hot and Spicy with family yesterday, despite being tepid about Indian food, especially when it comes from a buffet. My experience in the past with buffet food of this type is that it all tastes the same and the meats tend to be dry. So with pretty low expectations I made my way to the buffet line.... More

We enjoyed the luncheon buffet Sunday after church. The dishes were very flavorful and we tried almost all of them. The nan bread did the trick to sop up the tasty sauces. Our waiter was attentive and very knowledgeable, answering questions and making suggestions. I especially love my fresh mango lassie. It was like drinking dessert. The tandori chicken was... More

We enjoyed the buffet today! A nice selection of dishes, multiple types of rice, good nan . Loved the mango drink, good service.

Love the lunch buffet. Everyday from 11 to 2 they offer a mouth watering display of the most flavorful food in the area. The rice, meat, and vegetable dishes with their variety of spices and sauces will satisfy every palate. If you want it hot add the hot sauce, one of three extra sauces available, but on the side as... More

I absolutely love Indian food. I studied abroad in England 2 years ago and fell in love with it. I have been craving it and when I went to Hot & Spicy I was ecstatic to find that it was just as good as the curries I had in England! The inside of the restaurant is nothing exciting, but the... More
