Very Good Meal

We wandered through the Downtown on a cold night on a recommendation of L.May. Glad we did. Good food, great service and a cool location. Really enjoyed our meal and the wine list was great as well.

Our experience last night was so wonderful I felt compelled to write a review. We went to L.May to celebrate my husband's birthday. It was such a wonderful experience. Our server Tiffany was amazing. Dinner was excellent! We will defiantly be returning.

We were in Dubuque for a funeral and this restaurant was recommended. Delicious white wine, eclectic menu. Variety of special pizzas. I had the pumpkin ravioli and my husband had crusted pike. Both were fantastic. Service was excellent. Highly recommend L.Mays.

My wife and I took our two kids to Dubuque for two days after Christmas to enjoy the water-park. Lucky for us our 7 and 9 year old also enjoy good foods vs chain food and upon researching we landed on going to L.May Eatery for our "big meal" of our stay. Well lets put it this way we were... More

LMay is a gem nestled on Main in Dubuque. Every meal we have had at this restaurant is a delicious, rich experience. From perfect filet mignon to a rich, creamy lobster lasagna this restaurant has it all. The quaint atmosphere and stellar drinks top it all off to a wonderful time with family and friends.

Took my son here for what I hoped was a great meal when he returned from duty in Afghanistan. He ordered filet mignon and pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes. What he got was filet mignon over done with a lamb chop (he hates lamb) with mashed potatoes that were full of hair. Needless to say we both lost our appetites... More

I've been eating at L.May since the third day it was open (eight years ago) and have been a faithful patron ever since. The menu changes with the season and although the restaurant changed chefs somewhere in midstream, the quality and ingenuity of the offerings have remained outstanding and intriguing. I always know that I will get fine service, great... More

My wife and I had dinner here shortly before I proposed to her. We came back on the one year anniversary of our engagement for another special meal. I had contacted the restaurant ahead of time to reserve a table for the occasion. To our surprise, they brought us two glasses of champagne to help us commemorate the day. It's... More

We enjoyed a lovely business dinner at L May recently. Our server was very attentive and helpful. Overall the menu had a nice variety of options and everyone enjoyed their meals. I truly appreciated that there was a vegan option included among the entrees. One of our guests had an issue with undercooked steak (it was ordered well done), but... More
