modern eatery, with great value

great wine, very nice atmosphere, friendly we were there for my nieces graduation. It is what I would say is a modern eatery. Not fired food, not posh, friendly and down to earth. My wife and I love this type of eatery as the food is great, the wine selection is good and affordable. This does... read more

Make reservations well before your dinner even mid week! On street parking only and watch the meters. Food was very good and fairly reasonable.

We got several appetizers and then salads for dinner and it was delicious! Service was also good. I got a chicken Caesar salad. My favorite was bacon Brussel sprout flatbread.

Came to Dubuque for our anniversary and used Trip Advisor to find a special restaurant. Tried L.May and fell in love with the food, atmosphere and service. It was so good that we came back the next night. We now talk about it to all our friends and will plan our trips to Dubuque primarily to have a night "off... More

This restaurant uses fresh, local ingredients as much as they can. The food is rich and delicious. There is a large wine and drink list. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. It is hard to pick which items to recommend, as there are so many good options, but i particularly like the items that includes grits (i usually do not... More

a little spice, a friendly staff, a pizza that was great and a brownie to die for. The LOCALS kept telling us to here so we made the effort. Had the house salad as well....fresh and great garlic vinaigrette dressing. And house Pinot Noir was very nice. go directly there and don't stop at fast food.

Our evening started with awesome service from Sadie. I would ask for her next time we eat here. She helped us decide what we ordered. It was very good. Filet, salmon, lamb, and the turkey sandwich. She suggested a bottle of wine which was good. Bonus... An old friend of my wife we ran into bought us another bottle. How... More

Start with a glass of sangria, because it is the best anywhere. Most entrees come with the house salad. It's fresh and crisp, and interesting. The warm cracked wheat bread brought to your table with a savory butter takes the edge off an appetite without ruining it. We have often enjoyed the pork osso bucco, but last time I had... More

Wonderful food, didn't live up to its banner of "local food" though. The lobster and bacon mac&cheese is fab. Also some of the most tender, flavorful salmon I've ever had. The frommaged escargot is too rich and drowns the poor snails in midwestern creamy excess. Not great for kids, a nice place for couples and friends.

We had this lovely place recommended to us as we shopped the cute shops in Cable Car Square. The atmosphere was very nice and the food was delicious! Try out a local eatery!
