We found this place by accident a few years ago, best burger we had in a long time. Went back Saturday-still good, I highly reccomend.

Tuesday is a great day to stop at Kalmes for a great quarter pound burger. Only $2.50 for a burger with onions and pickles and add fries (fresh cut homemade fries) for $1.50.

My husband & I were in Dubuque for a weekend getaway and stopped here for lunch after reading Trip Advisor reviews. We were not dissappointed. It's a small corner bar in the warehouse district. The staff was very friendly & the burgers were EXCELLENT. One of the best we've had in a long time. Also the fried corn nuggets were... More

Kalmes' is known for their great Sunday buffet, their chicken dinners, but also for their burgers. It's one of those favorites for the locals and you know what they say, "If you want to eat well while on vacation, go where the locals go." True statement about this place.

Great place to eat with a cold beer. Been there a few times and can't complain about anything. On busy times it can get cramped but the food was always good.

We stopped early on a Friday night. Good drinks, good selection of tap beers and very good burgers that you can choose what size you would like. Some of the best fries I've had too.

...is the up & coming area of Dubuque. Not fancy, just super food, cold beer and excellent service. Burgers (exccellent ground beef), salads and soups to die for. The bar staff and the kitchen staff are on their toes and are very attentive without being obtrusive. Excellent craft beers on tap & in the bottle. (In this area there are... More

We stopped here at the recommendation of a local that we happened to meet near lunch time. The portions were good; the food tasty. The wait staff was friendly but very loud as they socialized at lunch time with the customers. A casual place where bikers stop. A couple of different TVs going with various sports showing.
