Panzerotti is the house speciality, but I like the Sicilian Salad best

Mario's is our choice for good old fashioned Italian home cooking. His pizza is excellent but there is a lot more to choose from. Salads are very good. A recent visit to Mario's' restaurant in Dubuque Absolutely (beyond) horrible! My wife and I went to Mario's for the first time in 15 years on a Friday night for dinner. We have spent a lot of time traveling in Italy and Europe and I have to say... this cheap substitute for Italian food just didn't even come CLOSE! It... More

Taste of Italian in bold 60's decor, great preparation, quantity reasonable to keep prices down, service good, and you know having the owners stop at your table to talk is always the true showing of a family restaurant. Little high on liquor and wine prices, but food makes up for it. Old school Italian at its best.

Mario was a gracious and welcoming host to our family dinner. He came to our table personally and was a fun and interesting person. Great food and service.

It was St. Patty’s Day and since a friend told me of Mario’s was a must, I had to try it. To my surprise they were serving Corned beef and cabbage at an Italian place?!! I took advantage and tried the Irish dish and I am so happy I did. It was great. I also tried the Panerotti. It was... More

Not fancy. Not modern. Not sophisticated. But you cannot eat any of those. Most times when we walk in for lunch Mario himself is anchoring a stool at the bar. We went yesterday and I had a generous portion of corned beef and cabbage, a day late for the holiday but fresh and delicious. My wife had eggplant parmigiana. These... More

Great home cooked food that is reasonably priced. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Italian food and is hungry!

We have lived in the area for Twenty years. I don't know why we never tried it since we heard so many great reviews. Well, now it is one of our favorite places to eat. The specials are always great, especially the stuffed peppers

You have to give credit, where credit is due!. Great food anytime, but during these cold, long winter days, the best. We take our family there a lot, the kids love the pizza, my wife the salad, and I'm pasta guy. Time to enjoy!

This past weekend, me, my parents, my sister, and my mom's friends from Kenosha,WI came to this restaurant after another place was too busy. We had friendly service, ice-cold drinks, and an assortment of Italian delights! The best part? Panzerotti! Not to mention, my mom's friends enjoyed themselves! Even though I live in Dubuque, I still recommend this great place... More
