You could easily walk past this hidden gem. The exterior doesn't reflect what is inside which is a high quality, sophisticated restaurant. The prix fix menu offers a choice of 4 appetizers, 4 firsts, 4 seconds and dessert. The menu changes but seems to offer pasta dishes for the firsts and beef, seafood and chicken for the seconds which is... More

We have been loyal Lucca diners for years, but have decided that we can no longer support the restaurant. What attracted us in the beginning has been sadly lost over the years. The quality is completely inconsistent, the theme of the different courses has become stale and the atmosphere screams of a restaurant that has faded in the public interest.... More

I dine here perhaps once a quarter. They always hit it out of the park. The food quality is excellent, the limited menu focuses on options for most tastes, including seafood, and well prepared and presented. The wine list is decent. The tables aren't overly crowded, so the elbow room is nice, with uber high ceilings. I've never been disappointed.

It's a great casual place for a lunch or early dinner, however dinner can get expensive. The atmosphere is cool and locations and building are very well designed. The staff was friendly and I really enjoyed the food! I will be back!

Des Moines doesn't have a lot of prix fixe dining options (that is quickly changing), but Lucca is definitely at the top of the short list. My wife and I have dined at Lucca many times over the last several years and have never once been disappointed. On the whole, I'd like to say "it's not worth the money", but... More

I don't have a problem paying for good food; really I don't. The Prix Fixe Lucca has now is SO DISAPPOINTING. Courses were all over the place portion-wise and barely average in taste. My husbands courses were huge and mine were almost non-existent. Some of the courses were just plain tasteless. Stay far away from the Carpaccio! No salt and... More

A girlfriend and I ate at this restaurant recently. The food was ok. Very different menu - no steak and potatoes at this restaurant. They pride themselves in culinary experience so if you like an all American menu - this place is not for you. Pricey.

This was my first visit to Lucca and the interior is very contemporary. It has a bright and clean look, hard to explain almost sanitary and simple look. It felt a bit strange at first, but I actually liked it before we left. The menu was interesting and the service was perfect. The food was good but the portions were... More
