I usually have the French Ham, but the Turkey Club is awesome too. I have yet to actually eat inside as I usually get my sandwich to go at lunch time, so I'm not sure how the service is. But the baked good are excellant!! Also, their prices are NOT outrageous!!

The food looks great. Tastes pretty good too. A lot of the bakery goods are out in the open and customers and kids touching the goods put me off. Service is good. Space is noisy. Good.

Yes, I know my title ends with a preposition, but you will understand once you visit La Mie. The pastries are light, flaky, and deliciously with their fruity fillings. The breads are simply amazing. Imagine a baguette that French people are pleased to eat. Or imagine potato bread so fresh it is still warm when you slice it. One word... More

Location: - In very cool neighborhood (Cultural, Arts district near museums) although it is like a strip malls. A lot of other interesting stores to explore near this place. -- Free parking at the back of the strip mall. Service: - Although it is more like a self service after you place an order, nice, attentive people at the counter.... More

I've been to La Mie a couple of times and have yet to have anything I didn't absolutely love. Every time I go, there has always been a line. Today, right before I got to the register to pay, La Mie's credit card machine stopped working. Rather than hold up a bunch of people while they tried to fix it,... More

I had amazing service! The food was fresh and delicious. I had a turkey sandwich, and the bacon was crisp and the ingredients fresh. I then had an almond croissant type thing, which was delectable! I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. :)

Love this place. So glad Des Moines has it. The bread is wonderful and equally good are the salads, soups and sandwiches on the menu. Everything taste so fresh and perfectly prepared. Get there early for a seat at lunch or be willing to come late i.e., 1:30 or so.

Our daughter is attending Drake U so every visit begins with us picking her up nice & early for breakfast at La Mie. It sets the tone for an awesome visit. When you enter, have one of your party grab a table while the others go to place your order. Everything is great - I always order the salmon tartine... More

Alright, I admit to being weird when it comes to searching for the perfect croissant. I suspect that I may have been spoiled in France, or maybe it was a Swiss bakery. I spend my life continually pissed off with what most places call croissants. And some of these idiots heat their faux croissants with a quick trip to the... More

On a visit to Des Moines, our friend took us here for breakfast. Although it was a weekday, the place was filled with a dining crowd. The atmosphere is industrial, looking like it was a converted warehouse, but we later learned this was one of the first strip malls in the city. The first difficulty became apparent once perusing the... More
