We love the barbeque here. My favorite is the brisket. My husband prefers the ribs. Our favorite sides are the apples, cornbread and red beans and rice. We've never had good luck with the potato of the day. I like the quirky atmosphere. It's also nice that you can bring in your own bottle of wine (they charge a $10... More

Always a great experience at the 'Mango! Best ribs ever. Creative menu and the engaging owner, Mike, is a hoot.

This place came highly recommended to us from several people so we decided to try it. The outdoor appearance is less than desirable and I figured this was probably one of those places that is a hidden gem. I was wrong. The hostess was not friendly at all, we had reservations for 4 but one member of our party couldn't... More

We have been here many times but we've never gotten tired of it. The food and service are always fantastic, and the food is good. Did I say the food was good? It is in case I didn't. :)

The exterior lead us to think we had made a "wrong selection" for dinner, but we were pleasantly surprised with the cute interior, great friendly service, & amazing food!! 3 out of 4 of us had the dry-rub ribs & they were fabulous!

My husband and I frequent this place on a semi-regular basis. Last time, we went with a group of 6 to celebrate a birthday and it did not disappoint. The brisket, catfish, ribs, pork chop and pulled pork all got rave reviews from our group of food snobs. The smoky flavor of the meats are well balanced with spices...no need... More

Went there with co-workers. Found the menu with a great variety of meat and fish. Quality and portion were great. List of local beer was very interesting. Good place for foreners that do not want to eat hamburger every day. Nice, clean, friendly. Maybe they could stay open a little longer at night.

The Flying Mango was really hyped up. We are transplants to Des Moines and have been actively investigating the dining scene. This was highly recommended. The meal started with drinks, mojito's to be exact. Probably the worst mojito's we have ever experienced. The meals them selves were unremarkable and not flavorful. While the concept is unique the execution on the... More
