food was very good. mostly fish but steak as well. This was the most expensive meal in Des Moines , Iowa that we had. Lobster was $70.00 and the 8 oz filet was 36.00. This was a lot more than I thought it would cost in the area. Wait staff was very good. The food was very good.,now some may like... read more

I love their motto of "Jet Fresh"! Who would think about seafood in Des Moines, but they are the real deal. The appetizer of the Calamari And Shrimp with the sweet chili sauce was incredibly delicious. They had oysters from different places that were all quite good. The gulf shrimp were great & the swordfish special with prepared sake grilled... More

We have been here many times, but will not be returning. Beet salad was our starter, a pile of jarred pickled beets with crumbled cheese on top. Shrimp Asian style was so hard and flavorless I could barely finish. And Seabass, tasteless and disappointing. Definitely not worth the price. We will be looking elsewhere for seafood in DesMoines. Spent the... More

We stopped here for lunch during the week. My husband had been there the night before and raved about the service and the food, so we decided to go there for lunch so he could get more oysters and I could give them a try. When we arrived we walked into the dining area but were stopped by an employee... More

This is an excellent place to eat to enjoy seafood. Great location across the street for the Civic Center. Excellent food. Good service. Fun ocean décor with the many large aquariums. For our appetizer we choose 2 different oyster shells. 3 of each: Rockefeller (bacon, spinach & hollandaise sauce) & "Bienville" (shrimp, mushrooms & bacon) both were tasty. My daughter... More

I had the salmon which was good, but high priced and not fantastic for the price. The atmosphere is nice - beautiful fishtanks all around.

From the service to the food everything was great about splash. Fresh seafood is tough to come by in Des Moines but they get theirs flown in daily from all over the country and take it from an old Boston boy this is fresh fish. The waitresses were wonderful an attentive and upon hearing it was our anniversary they say us... We celebrated our son's 21st birthday at Splash. I reserved a table for 6 online and wrote a note it was for a birthday. Staff called me on the day of the reservation to get more information on the birthday. We were seated right away when we arrived at a table that had confetti decorations sprinkled on the table. The... More

This is one the nicest restaurants in Des Moines, and the best seafood restaurant. The main dining area is somewhat formal with a full dinner menu. The Oyster Bar in front is cozy with a great abbreviated menu. Their wine list is extensive. Street parking can be tough at night when there is a show at The Civic Center across... More
