Steaks are wonderful. Food is always top notch and predictably good. Ala carte choices. Great place to impress a guest. Service can't be beat. Pricey. Great wine list.
This place is very pricey but if your looking for Amazing food in an upscale atmosphere with great service, this is the place to go! Highly recommend !
Coming from Kansas City, steaks are a big deal to us. I got the bone in filet ($76) and my husband had the porterhouse. My steak was ok but nothing special and certainly not melt in your mouth. My husbands steak was way too salty. The sides were ok, but too salty also. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, but... More
This is typically a nice place and we have received great service in the past but when we arrived the restaurant was somewhat empty and our server couldn't be bothered. We actually received better service from other servers who noticed we were being neglected - thats sad! I had a steak and it was prepared the way I wanted it... More
Went here while in Des Moines visiting family as I had read great reviews on Trip Advisor. I was NOT disappointed! From the moment we walked in it was wonderful! My friend and I sat in a cozy booth at the bar and the lighting was relaxing and the noise level just perfect. The bartender came right over and made... More
Nice ambiance. Good service. Their niche is an upscale downtown restaurant, with commensurate pricing. If you want to impress, this is a good place to go. For great steak at reasonable prices there are lots of other options in the Des Moines area.
I couldnr argue about the great food here: excellent and well cooked seafood or steak. Vegetables and side dishes are also well done- one of the best restaurant (if not the best) I've ever eaten at. However, the price is high end. Salmon, Chilean sea bass, steak - these all range from $30 to more than $50. And it is... More
The hotel I was staying at suggested I eat here and they were right. I walked over. I had a 12 oz strip and it was excellent-melted in my mouth. I also had some clam chowder to start and it too was fantastic. My side was French fries and I could not eat them all-probably the best fries I have... More
The cuts of meat were excellent. They had a great choice of preparations, we tried the Oscar (which was your choice of seafood, with asparagus and bearnaise) and the cognac butter with portabella mushroom ragout. Garlic mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts were out choices for side dishes, also excellent. The service was impeccable, cheerful and professional. It ranks as one of... More
I was in Des Moines for business. I stayed at the Marriott Downtown. This restaurant was a block away. I had no reservation and it was a Tuesday night. The resturant was packed. I sat at the bar. The service was pretty good. I could have used a little more attention from the bar tender and refill of my drink... More
