Old Des Moines Italian

This is one of old classic Des Moines Italian restaurants. The pasta and pizza are excellent. The restaurant is usually pretty busy. There is a parking lot and street parking.

Last visit to Noah's was for our anniversary in January. Noah's food and décor is classic Italian supper club. The music is classic as well. The service is great, and multi-generations of our family enjoy our family gathering there. Easy access to downtown Des Moines, and great service. The kids get to watch hand tossed pizza dough being made, adults... More

I'm glad you had a good time with us on your anniversary, and it means a lot that multiple generations of your family have come by in the past. It's a great compliment that you've found us calming -- we'll be waiting for your next visit with spumoni ice cream in hand! Cheers, James - Owner More

Been eating at Noahs for years! Love the food and the spumoni with rum sauce is the best! Homemade fried ravioli…yum! Nice to see a family owned restaurant still in business!

Food quality high, choices of dishes three to four times better than other fine dining locations in the surrounding states plus Iowa.

We went for a nice late lunch/early dinner after shopping in the downtown area and we had heard good things about this place. I would not go again, everything I asked for were not available. We arrived 30 minutes to early for dinner and to late for a lunch special. I understand not being able to have a lunch special,... More

Mandi, this is really surprising to read! We've been a Des Moines favorite since 1946 because of authentic Italian dishes, but also because of our friendly and prompt service. To hear you didn't enjoy either of these things during you early dinner is truly disappointing. Every restaurant has off days, and it seems like this was one of ours. There... More

I've been here many times and while we are never disappointed with our food, we aren't exactly blown away either. The decor is outdated and the average age of most the customers is 1,000. Wait staff has never been overly friendly and I'm pretty sure that they charge you for salad dressing for your salad. If you're looking for a... More

Shea, we love our regular customers. We've been around since 1946, so we're thrilled that many of our guests have been dining with us since childhood. While our decor isn't modern, I know it's part of what makes us, well, us! Despite all of that, we do want to be serving up delicious food, and we do want to be... More

The food was good but they charged me for my birthday dessert that the waitress promised me. Which kind of tweaked me. But we will come back again eventually again.

Thrilled to hear you enjoyed your food, but I'm sorry to hear about the miscommunication with the birthday dessert! I'll try to speak with my waitresses and see what happened here. Thanks, James - Owner More

I grew up in Des Moines & still have family here. Every time we visit, Noah's is on our must do list. Their baked lasagne & pizzas are my favorite. Their house made Italian garlic salad dresssing is outstanding and a great dip for their French fried onion rings! A huge & varied menu is sure to please any palette.... More
