A small shop in a little strip mall with a great idea! Lots of local products, especially cheese on the menu. We loved it...delicious!

We've been going to the Cheese Shop over 2 years now and we LOOVE IT. Not only do they have a miraculous assortment of delicious cheeses, but you can also find great beers, ale's , ciders and wines. I have purchased some delicious African Honey Meade on multiple occasions. Regardless of what kind of cheese you like, the courteous and... More

We stopped by for a quick dinner before seeing a play at the playhouse next door. My husband and I each had a sandwich and they were both delicious. Both were full of fresh ingredients and lots of flavor. The place was packed when we came, but we were able to grab a spot at the door. The staff was... More

Happened to be in Des Moines on business and close to this place. Parking can be a little tricky, but believe me the food is well worth it. We had gourmet grilled cheese that was truly out of this world and the tomato soup had a blend of flavors that was a treat to the taste buds. The staff was... More

A new discovery in Des Moines, and really a find for us. Everything was delicious. Loved the cheese and charcuterie appetizers portions to start. Great bacon macaroni. Fresh lemon salad was tasty and unusual…in a good way! Very friendly service. Also lots of interesting items for sale to go…house made pimento cheese spread was great. Loved the little bottles of... Best Mac & Cheese I've ever had and I am 63 years old! DD had Pig & Fig Sandwich, also awesome! They should pair them. Limited room for diners. Only has bar stool height seating. That's why it only gets 4 stars!

Loved it. Great food, helpful staff. Next time we will have a cheese platter, but their charcuterie is well worth it. We had their blood chocolate ice cream, which was excellent. Staff were wonderful helping us navigate the different foods and drinks.

Just visited for the first time. Staff is obviously "into" quality cheeses, wine and craft beer. We were introduced to their charcuterie as well as other artisan cheeses e.g. gouda and a tasty prosciutto.Their wine selection has a lot of variety and features both "smaller" French vinyards as well as small but quality California wineries. We'll make it a regular... More

The cheese and house made charcuterie are always interesting and delicious. I always like to try the beer and cider they've selected, too. My only complaint is the serving details: it would be nice to have small plates, a little more silverware and so forth. Today we shared a cheese and charcuterie plate and had only the plates the food... More

I have visited about 6 times and have had a great experience each time. Both the cheese and charcuterie are top shelf. Staff has always been efficient and knowledgeable. Their selection of wines (including ports) and beer are excellent and pair with the food very well. I have been in with my wife and by myself for a quick treat.... More
