I have been there several times and my sister kept saying-try the burnt ends. I had had burnt ends in Memphis and did not like them. Glad I tried them at smokey D's. They were fantastic. I am looking forward to my summer trip to have them again.

I do not care how many awards the owners have.. The brisket was dry and had no smoke flavor to it at all. I had the pulled pork and it had no smoke flavor and tasted like it had been in a crock pot. The mac and cheese was gross! I'm not sure what they use to season it, but... More

What can i say....I've been to BBQ places all over the country and I was blown away the taste and texture of these ribs. Went on a Saturday the first time where the line was wrapped into the bar area. We almost left but stuck it out. I couldn't believe we only had half of a beer gone when the... More

We had lunch at the Smokey D’s on 2nd Ave, and after all the publicity about the numerous National BBQ awards, had high expectations for the food experience we were about to encounter. I am sorry to say that we found the food to be only very average BBQ. The meat had only a very minor smoke flavor, and we... More

Stopped in with a couple of coworkers after doing some outdoor volunteer work. Cold beer, hot apps., great service. I could have stayed all night! - And, after getting home realized I had dropped my keys somewhere, call Smokey D's and they had them safe in hand and they greeted me like family when I came back to pick them... Decided that I should review one of our favorite spots in town. We've been coming here several times a year since they've opened this location. Without exception, the food is always outstanding. I've been to Texas and Kansas City and North Carolina and Tennessee, but Smokey D's is my favorite. There's a reason that their walls are covered with awards.... More

Stopped here when traveling through Iowa. Saw that they were recently visited by Guy Fieri for Diners, Drive-in and Dives, so figured we would check it out. For 2:00 on a Wednesday, the place was hopping. I loved my "burnt ends" sliders, meat just melted in your mouth, hubby loved his brisket and the baked beans, mac and cheese, potato... More

With trophies stacked up like cord wood you have to figure it's good! As an amateur smoker I know how hard it is to make good brisket. These guys knock it out of the park! Sliced or burnt ends you can't go wrong. I'll be back again.... Soon!

I saw that Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives would feature Smokey-D's next month and decided to give them a try. Boy, am I glad we did! Best ribs and burnt ends I have ever had! No sauce necessary! The brisket and chopped pork had excellent flavor, but was a bit dry. Hubby liked the wings, I did not. Cheese curds were... More

Our new favorite place. The kids love the Ribs kids meal, and I like the brisket sandwich. The fries are very tasty as well. Plenty of seating and the place is always busy. You can read the menu while you wait in line and then pick out your seats. There is always extra room to sit in the party rooms... More
