Go here on a Thursday night for their half priced boneless wings. The BBQ rub is outstanding and the staff is always friendly and offer suggestions if you can't decide. Love all of their food and the atmosphere of this place. Highly recommend

Recommended by a friend, but we checked out reviews too. Food was great, portions were huge and the quality was better than expected. Great relaxed atmosphere, heartily endorsed, make sure you try all the different sauces and pick your personal favorite!

Went there for appetizers. The nachos with pulled pork were great and the generous portion was enough for four people. Then we tried the rub wings and they were so tender the meat was falling off the bones. Over 20 kinds of beer on tap. Pretty cool.Des Moines experience.

I was in Iowa for a business trip in August and we were taken here for super. A couple people had thrown around the idea since I can eat that I should try their "Adam Emmenecker challenge" and I had no argument because I got to try a lot of different food that they served. The briquette was amazing, waffle... More

Visited Jethros for lunch with my family. We all had the babyback ribs. They had a good smoke and were tender. Bbq sauce was good also. The waffle fries were much better than the regular fries, the mac n cheese was nice and creamy but the bbq beans lacked flavor and the beans were undercooked. The 1/2 rack rib meals... More

Ate an early dinner after a drive from Iowa City. I got the perfect item: half rack of ribs and five wings. The ribs were Huge, tasty, and meaty. Great flavor with and without the sauces on the table. My mom got "The Jethro". Holy Shmoley !!! Needless to say she took more than half home, with sauces to boot,... More

I have eaten at the Jethro's in Altoona for supper and those have got to be some of the best ribs I have ever eaten from the Des Moines area. So I thought "why not" try them for breakfast? I was pleasantly surprised to find them near Drake University in Des Moines, so I stopped in. I tried their Farmer's... More
