I initially thought there was not much to do in Des Moines so I was surprised to taste the quality of food at Django. I got to try the Mussle Boulabaise and the Mussles in blue cheese served in iron cast pots and they were delicious. You could really taste the mussles with ever sip of the base and... read more

We visited for Sunday Brunch because it is connected to Hotel Fort Des Moines, where we were staying. Our waitress was efficient if not particularly friendly. Did not notice any special Brunch menu - just had the breakfast menu. I had Croque Madames “French Ham & Cheese” Ham, Swiss cheese and Dijon mustard on South Union Bakery country bread, finished... My wife selected this restaurant and by the time we made reservation, the first slot available was 8:30. The hostess let us know that they have a huge bar and we could always just pop in and try to grab a seat. We are so glad we did! The bartenders are clearly comfortable serving food and in fact made some great... More

the best service with outstanding seared scallops with lobster corn mashed potatoes. I can taste it right now! Ask the server for help with anything as they are very knowledgeable.

We stopped at Django's for the first time last Monday noon. One of us ordered a ham and cheese omelette, the other ordered a "grown-up" grilled cheese and we both had "duck" fries. The food was fabulous--tasty and delivered hot and fresh with a creative touch. (What was the secret ingredient in the sandwich? We're thinking it was either truffle... More

A friend brought us here to try out the French good. I had the Salad Nicoise and it was wonderful. I had the small salad and I couldn't finish it. Lots of perfectly grilled tuna, fingerling potatoes, Nicosia olives and tomatoes. Yum! This restaurant has lots of my favorite French menu items and I'd love to go back and try... More

I had a meeting with a client and order the fries and grilled cheese and wine. It was a $20 meal plus tip but worth every penny. A gem of fine dining.

This is one of Des Moines's best restaurants. You will feel like you are in Paris. Oysters, cheese, and prosciutto are available at the large horseshoe bar. The food is excellent, wine list good, and service is excellent. Reservations are taken.

I never thought that one of the best French restaurants I' would ever eaten in would be located in Des Moines. Although it was a Monday night, they were crowded and the cooking was amazing (whoever covers for the chef on Mondays was wonderful. I ordered spinach salad with warm bacon dressing (filled with goat cheese and candied walnuts). The... More
