We showed at 6 and instead of taking the one hour wait for a table, decided to dine immediately at the bar. Loved the ambiance. We ordered crab cakes, but they seemed to be tuna, which made me question the two pizzas we ordered -- were there really four cheeses? Was that just one type of mushroom or five? About... More

Excellent, classy restaurant with heavily wooded décor. What could have been an old stuffy business restaurant was actually quite energetic and filled with diners of various ages. The menu was sufficiently varied to suit everyone in our group, from beef to fish, pasta, oysters, you name it. I enjoyed the beef bourguignon very much. Healthy portions without too much fussy... The menu was very hard to choose from because everything sounded delicious. My meal, the mushroom crepes, was exquisite and the cocktail, New Frenchie, was delicious. Recommend.

Several years ago US Today listed the #1 hamburgers in each of the 50 States. A subsequent article came out in which a couple were interviewed. They had made it their mission to go to each state and have their #1 hamburger. At the end of their travels, the husband's favorite burger was the one from Hawaii. The wife's favorite... More

Classy old-fashioned décor carrying over from adjoining hotel lobby. Fresh oysters not often seen in the Midwest. Interesting menu includes French influences. Fairly priced, good food.

One of the better "nice" places to go. French flair. Food consistently excellent. Locally owned by same folks that own Centro and Zombie Burger. Great quality and service staff are professional. You can dress up if you want a special date type meal or go as you are. Anything we have had very good.

I like the location and the interior of the restaurant is nice. The service was OK although our waiter knew nothing about wine. Embarassingly ignorant actually to the point I was educating him and I am no connoisseur. Food-wise, yet again a completely average Des Moines restaurant. I am vegetarian and there were a few options - I had the... More

I really enjoyed their simple french food. Food was delicious, atmosphere is very nice, if not a bit noisey when place is crowded , and best of all u can bring your own special bottle of wine to have with dinner and there is no corkage fee. Great place for a great meal at a reasoanble price.

We live in the area and Django has become one of our favorite "go to" restaurants for a good burger and fries. They have a very extensive, somewhat expensive menu - but for just a good, flavorful burger and fries, this is the place to go. Reservations are needed most evenings and I have been very frustrated by them sometimes... More

Had lunch here shortly after they opened several years ago and it was fine but not memorable enough to get us back there quickly. Had an opportunity to go for dinner tonight. Wow, great food, huge portions (almost a detriment), attentive service and no corkage so the wines which we brought were outstanding. Vibrant scene and a large menu with... More
