Description: ALL FRENCH – NO ATTITUDE Django is a comfortable, brasserie-style restaurant offering everything you love about French cuisine without the attitude. The restaurant features classic French dishes such as Steak Frites and Duck Cassoulet, as well as fresh salads and juicy hamburgers made with house-ground beef. At the heart of Django is the interactive chef station. Located in the center of the restaurant, this large bar offers patrons a place to order jet-fresh seafood such as oysters, shrimp, clams, mussels, and seafood plateaus, alongside cheese plates, cured meats, artisan bread and house-made desserts. Django is the latest venture of Centro Chef George Formaro, Paul Rottenberg of Orchestrate Hospitality Management, and Hotel Fort Des Moines owner, Jeff Hunter.

I was visiting a friend who had just moved to Des Moines, and she heard great things about Django so we made that our inaugural dinner out in her new city. It was a great choice. The portions were large, the prices were reasonable, and the service was great. We had a tiny bit of difficulty finding the restroom on... More

I've been to Django a few times and the food and service were consistently good. I found the staff helpful and knowledgeable, the food overall good, although I had a fish special once that was a hit and miss (not bad but blend). Overall worth going there again!

We have been here twice now and we have had fun both times! We ordered a variety of small plates to challenge our taste buds and we impressed! The truffle oil fries are a must! Great selection of good wines. Waitress was fun and helpful and worked hard to make us happy! The cook worked hard to please one of... More

From the onion soup and fresh oysters to any entree on the menu you can not go wrong stopping in to Django. The setting is more European which is a very nice change from the "americanized" version of the same. So haveing lived in Europe for many years it was a nice reminder.

My husband and I ate here on a Saturday night prior to attending a show at the Civic Center. We both had beers, plus the crab cake appetizers. He has the braised lamb shank and I had sea scallops. The food was excellent- especially the crab cakes, they were to die for. We both said that after a beer, the... More

Dined here twice with work colleagues for business meetings. Food is great, well prepared, and service is timely and pleasant. Several private dining areas make it possible to hold business functions without being interrupted by the bar area nearby. While the food quality is very good, their prices are significant as well. A group of a dozen patrons with a... More

We love this restaurant in the Fort Des Moines Hotel. The food is good, well-presented, and reasonably priced. The chef is inventive, and the waitstaff is excellent. The tables are a bit cramped, but you can enjoy what others are eating as well this way! Spend some time at the bar, watching the bartender, or the prep staff.

I stayed at the Hotel Fort Des Moines, so I could go to the restaurant without going outside. I had a very good time. I can't say that the pork chops were my favorite, but the bread was amazing, and there are several other items on the menu that I would certainly be willing to try. I sat at the... More

Had the salmon and it was terrific. My colleagues had the halibut and pizza and both were pleased. We finished the the meal... More

I don't know if there was a big personnel change in this restaurant or not - however my last visit was vastly different in quality from the first one 4 months earlier. I understand lately - that things have been going further downhill from my last visit. Quality of preparation is the primary issue here. This has been promoted as... More
