The Rubaiyat has a diverse menu so there is something for everyone. The staff is very pleasant, plate presentation is beautiful, and the tempo flows with YOUR tables pace. You do not need to really dress up for this restaurant but most people will have long pants and a collared shirt for men, or women, or a dress. A jacket... More

My wife and I showed up for our meal 40 minutes early to enjoy a bottle of sparkling at the bar. Kim was super friendly. The bar experience was superb. The wine list is worth the price of admission alone. Once at our table, we enjoyed a delightfully paced meal. The starter was delicious, the main course was delicious, and... More

Where the locals go for a perfect night out. Chef, Andy, an artist in his field surprises us every time with wonderful flavors and visual appeal of our meals. Kim, his wife, keeps the front running beautifully with satisfied diners. Great support team is well-trained and well-versed in their food and beverage options. If you love good wine, this is... Met up with friends at the bar and was super pleased with the large beer menu and friendly bartenders. Watch out for the hummus--- it has so much garlic, even a garlic lover will get heart burn.

Well, I am torn on this one....I have heard great things about this restaurant, and the menu looked appealing. We were there over the Nordic Fest, and it was busy. That I understand. (Although, we did eat at other restaurants, and still had kind and friendly service!) We walked in on Sunday morning and had a large party, and the... More

Decorah, Iowa is a small community in northern Iowa. Yet there is Rubaiyat, right in downtown. American cuisine made with the freshest local ingredients, served with an excellent visual presentation. Service is first-class. An unexpected, but pleasant surprise in this part of the world. Memorable. Will return again.

We made a dinner reservation based on its high TripAdvisor rating, but decided to settle in the bar for appetizers and wine. The decor and atmosphere are quite nice. The dining area is in the left half of the restaurant, while the front right half is for a bar seating 12 and 6 round high tables comfortably seating 4 or... More

This may well be Decorah's best restaurant. The loaf of cheesy bread delivered hot to the table with a knife to cut it is out of this world. All beef and pork dishes are first rate as is the wedge salad. The piña colada cake is a must. All is well priced to boot.
