What a wonderful experience I had this weekend in Davenport, Iowa. I went to visit my granddaughter at Augustana, so Sunday morning we decided to have a brunch. What a pleasant surprise we had at the Bix Bistro, a restaurant at the Blackhawks Hotel. The food was delicious, and it came with Blood Mary, and very good coffee. The waitress... More

We decided on the Bistro as a lunch meeting spot prior to attending a downtown event. Having been there before we were hoping for improvement. We were surprised to be the only customers during the slow dining experience. Despite being the only customers we agreed the wait time from order to table was too long. Fortunately we weren't in a... My husband and I were lucky enough to be able to visit Davenport again I wanted to show him the Hotel Blackhawk. I like to show him the cool places and things that I have found during the day while he is working. I decided to have a drink at Bix Bistro bar while I waited for him. Then we... More

A bit pricey but worth every penny. Great food! Amazing sauces and a meal with multiple favors that all work well together.

We had breakfast on a Saturday morning about 8am. Not crowded at all with very prompt service. I had the eggs Benedict with a fresh fruit cup and my wife had a ham and swiss omelet. They were both very tasty and huge portions! We didn't know what to expect price wise for a restaurant at a pretty upscale hotel... More

After church on Sunday, we were looking for a good brunch. We made it to the Bix Bistro at the Hotel Blackhawk 30 minutes before the end of brunch. But that was plenty of time to sample the wide variety offered. Plenty of breakfast choices with french toast, biscuits and gravy, eggs, breakfast potatoes and made-to-order omelettes with a homemade... More

Nice hotel, nice restaurant atmosphere, but we just didn't like the taste of our entrees. I also asked for the less expensive glass of pinot noir, but was given and charged the glass that was $4 more - so dings on service for that. The best thing about my dinner was the squash soup - very tasty. But the bread... More

Did not know where to go tonight by chance parked in front of the Black hawk Hotel, we decided to do the Bix. What a great decision. I had the chicken thighs with rissoto, very good. My wife got the beef ribeye feature, wow did I miss. My plate looked good hers looked great! Tasted better, she shared. Top to... More

The roasted butternut squash soup with a dash of curry was excellent to counter the cold rain outside. The breakfast choices are amazing =. Service is excellent!
